Problems with InterVideo DVD Creator

I have a Compaq (built by HP) computer that has a CD/DVD+RW on it that runs on XP, for three years I have been using InterVideo DVD Creator without any problems. However, as of today, 11/20/2008, I am receiving a message Application error: 17235 Unable to detect an ASPI manager. Then it says, No DVD rewritable drive found on this system. I burned some of my own dvd's two days ago and it worked great. I am using the same brand of blank dvds.
Do you have any suggestions? THANKS

I'm trying to create a DVD from a video I took on my camera. I'm using InterVideo WinDVD Creator and it lets me get to the part where I burn the DVD and it keeps telling me to insert a disc. What do I do...

Hello,

Make sure that you have a DVD-RW and that you have a blank DVD placed in the drive. You need to also make sure that your program recognizes your DVD-RW.

Finally you can also just burn the image and save it on your computer and then try burning that image to a DVD using a different program like Nero.

Thanks,

Pat

IS THIS SOFTWARE SUITABLE FOR USE WITH SONY DVD RW

Hi,
Yes it certainly should be compatible with the CD/DVD drive.

Roxio has it's own burning software included with the program, you will just have to explore the software until you work out how to burn a CD using Roxio itself.

If you want to try another burning program try Nero 9 trial. All you have to do is enter your email address and then download the software. Nero is an excellent bit of software, i personally have never had any problems with it.
Get Nero 9 here >>>>>>>>>>

Burning DVD

Impossible, since your device _reads_ CDs/DVDs, but does not _write_ either CD nor DVD.

Do you have a USB memory-stick (holding 4Gbytes) ?
If so, copy the files to the memory-stick,
and take the memory-stick to your friend's computer,
presuming that his/her computer has a DVD-writer.
That DVD can be _read_ on your computer.

EZCD 5.0 and EZCD 6.0

I don't think that 6 and 5 are compatible 6 is an upgrade from 5. I have just 5 on one of my old XP computers and it works fine, but that's all I have. I went to the website and they are not giving any support for Roxio 6 anymore.
I will tell you that Roxio Easy Media Creator is fantastic. The things you can do with that are unbelieveable. I got it at Sam's Club for about $70. But I know that does not solve your problem.

Roxio 5
To burn data files, Open project selector, make a data cd, click data cd project. WhenEasy CD Creator 5 opens and you choose your files to burn, try this: Select Disc at Once Radio button, click okay and click burn.

OS: Issue When burning a CD or DVD, you receive an error, burning does not complete, or your media is rejected. Resolution Burning errors can happen for a variety of reasons. Roxio has found that doing the following steps resolves about 80% of all burning issues. Please give all these steps a try and see if it fixes your writing problems.

  1. Update your drive's firmware/drivers. Most companies regularly update their firmware and drivers. If you are unsure what model your burner is and its firmware, click here to find out.

  2. Enable DMA. Direct Memory Access enables better efficiency of data. For more info, check how to enable DMA.
  3. The media. Check the following:
    • The disc is clean and unused.
    • The media is recommended by your burner's manufacturer or try a different brand, preferably a name brand, if you continue to have problems.
    • Make sure that media (-R/+R, -/+RW, dual-layer compatibility) is supported by the burner by checking burner's manual or manufacturer's website. This is especially true for some Blu-Ray burners which do not support CD-R/RW media.

  4. If your burner is external, make sure it is connected directly to the computer via USB/Firewire and not a hub or other other device like a sound card.
  5. Update to the latest PX Engine. The PX Engine improves compatibility with newer burners on the market.
  6. A reinstall of the burner's drivers may also help.
    • Windows XP: Go to My Computer and choose Properties.
    • Windows Vista: Go to Start --> Control Panel --> System and Maintenance --> Device Manager.
    • Click on the Hardware tab.
    • Select Device Manager
    • Expand DVD/CD-ROM Drives, then select your burner and uninstall it by right -licking on it.
    • Reboot.
