Hey, I just fixed mine!! check out this fix posted previously. The filter mentioned is a wire mesh filter & I used a flathead screw driver to scrape out the dog hair.

"Turned out to be so simple. Look down at the machine. On the right is the green spiral to indicate the wheels are turning. Right above that is a cover that can be popped off to allow access to a small filter. If the filter is blocked, air intake is blocked, and the brushes will not turn. Mine was clogged. Took the 2 seconds to remove the material and the machine was fixed!"

How to replace belt on hoover SH40060 SWEEPER

Remove the screws from the bottom of the power nozzle so you can remove the cover to gain access to the belt. Remove the brush roll, pull the end caps off the brush roll if possible to clean out hair and debris. Make sure brush roll will spin freely. Install new belt and reassemble.

Hoover F7410-900 Steam Vac Dual V scrub brushes not working

If the brushes will to spin when you try to turn them by hand remove them from the machine. If the brushes spin ok after removing them the the turbine assembly is seized up and will likely need replaced. If the brushes won't spin when they are removed from machine take the plastic cover off the brushes and clean out the gears.

Brushes won't spin

First, please be sure to unplug your Steam Vac and remove both the clean water and the dirty water tank.
There should be a square stem that sticks up in the center of your brush assembly. If this stem is broken you will need to replace the complete brush assembly. If the stem is good; turn your cleaner on it's side and check in the area where the brush assembly goes (with the brush assembly removed). In the center of this area there is a square hole where the stem from the brush assembly goes. The square hole is in the bottom of the turbnie that spins your brushes. Using a large flat blade screw driver (not so large that you'll damage the hole), stick it in to the square hole and try to spin it. It should spin freely, if it is very hard to spin or won't spin at all, your turbine is bad and will need to be replaced.

I have cleaned & cleaned this thing! It runs for about 2 mins & stops, says "Clean Brushes"! and now it's very noticeable it's not picking up well... but is picking up a bit. I take the dust bin...

Ok, this is a "Brush Height Adjustment" issue. It will probably work great on a hard surface but on carpet the brushes bog. If you've taken the unit apart already...Sorry....do it again. When you do, you'll see a String which allows the brushes to "Float" on different surface heights. Loosen the screw a little and pull a bit more string through. Re Tighten the screw and put it together enough for a test run. Now reset the roomba. To reset the Roomba, power the Roomba on, and press the Spot, and Dock buttons together for at least 8 seconds. Until it plays a tune. The clock, and any schedule is erased at this time. Try running the Roomba with the dust bin removed to see the brushes spin easier.

Second method, is taking off the bottom cover, and removing the battery. While it's removed, and not plugged into the charger, press the clean button for at least 20 seconds. This will erase the memory. Replace battery, and cover. Run the Roomba to see if the brushes start to spin. You can also remove the brush housing by removing the 4 screws and reseating it, to see if it was a bad connection, since you have the bottom cover off.

Brushes don't spin

Remove the bottom cover and replace the broken drive belt. Check that the brush will rotate freely--likely everything is jammed with hair and dust. The brush assembly should just lift out of the case and the end bearings will pull off. The brush needs to be removed to install a new belt anyway. There should be a diagram that shows how to install the belt (it has a half-turn twist).

Bottom on the vaccum the spin brush will not spin at all

Double check for anything that might be holding it from spinning (shoe lace, string, hair, ribbon, etc)

If the brushes are free to move by hand, you most likely have either a broken belt or a belt that simply came off the motor. What you'll need to do in either case, is open up the vacuum cover. The screws are usually located at the bottom of the vacuum (where the brushes are) and remove all the visible screws you see.

Most of the time (being that I don't know what kind of vac you have, that is enough to remove the top cover off for you to inspect either the motor or the belt which attaches to the motor. I know on my hoover, the belt slips off very easily, so I always need to keep my screwdriver handy to perform this.

Hope this helps.

Brushes don't spin

Take out the screws from the bottom, there will 2 longer ones, they got into the turbine, turn it upright and take the top cover off. The turbine sits near the front, center, remove the 2 screws on the front of it, remove the hoses, then you can remove the turbine(#23).

Roller brush isn't spinning

Depending on which powerhead this is, if you removed the light cover, then removed the 2 screws, from the bottom edge, you will see a slot where you can insert a flat blade and pry out to release the tab, there is one on each side. If this one where the 2 screws are removed form the bottom, then there are 4 locking tabs, 2 on the back and one on each side.
