I am having the same problem with the ice maker not working while the water dispenser works just fine. I can feel frozen ice in part of the dispenser and wonder if it froze in there and clogged it up. I've had the fridge for 4 years and it's been fine until now

Having same problem. No water from tubing going into ice maker. How do you get the water to flow thru tubing?

Water dispensor working fine. Also the grey tray where water enters is extremely hot. Is this normal or due to water not getting through?

Same problem. Water dispensor works but not the ice maker. Water not going through tubing to ice maker. Also grey tray where water goes into ice maker is extremely hot. Is this due to water not coming in or is it normal?

The freezer is set to 4 degrees. So I guess that isn't the problem but thank you for your answer

Check to make sure you freezer is at 0 to 5 degrees. If it is not the water valve to the ice maker will not even open.

Kenmore ultra fresh side side 59507990

828a4e4f-c0b3-4029-a7f5-35b92db8b7ad.jpgKenmore model numbers look like this example=> 321.1234578 Are you sure that the water in the ice maker is melting and flowing down into the ice bin? What may be happening is the water control valve for the ice maker may be allowing water to continue flowing into the ice maker tray even when off due to the water control valve being defective. If your refrigerator also has a water dispenser and the water is not continuing to leak is because the water control valve has to sides. One side is for the ice maker and the other side is for the water dispenser. I am here if you have questions, Thanks Sea Breeze

Water will not flow. It is a kenmore cold spot

Most likely the dual water control valve is not opening to allow the water to the dispenser if that is your meaning. Now if you mean water for both dispenser and ice maker then that would change everything. See if you can locate the model number that Sears puts on the door frame near floor. The fresh food section door at base and the number will look like this example 312.256489 With that number I can see everything your side by side came with and tell you the parts and locations. You also can have someone test voltage going to the water control valves while someone presses the dispense water switch. And with a voltage meter set to OHM's test the coils on the dual water control valves for resistance and if one has a very different number that can tell you. So we have several things to look for, water supply, dual water control, (if one works and other will not) and model number, Let me know what you find, Sea Breeze

Kenmore coldspot water dispenser stopped working. Ice maker works. What could be possibly wrong?

On the rear of your refrigerator there is a dual water control valve. One side for ice maker and one side for water dispenser. I believe your side for the water dispenser has failed and they come as a set. Send the Kenmore model number and I will find you one. The number will look like this, 326.256489 for example only. Found near the bottom of the fresh food section door. Thanks, Sea Breeze

I have a Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator and the water dipenser quit working, the ice maker works fine. Any solutions?

Check water valves on back of fridge, one is for the ice maker and other is for water dispenser. Need to get the correct and complete model number listed on front and near floor behind the fresh food door. Problem may be the water valve in back or the dispenser switch on the front. let me know and I will try to get it going for you.
Thanks, Sea Breeze

Kenmore Ice Maker

Sounds like a water valve problem to me. Force the ice maker to cycle. (turn it off and let it get cold for at least an hour then turn it back on). Test for voltage on the ice maker side of the valve. The valve is usually in the back near the floor. Just follow the water line. Another solution. switch the wires on the water valve. then try the water dispenser and see if it makes the ice maker fill up. See if when the ice maker cycles water comes out the door. If the ice maker causes water in the door , replace the valve, If door switch causes ice maker to fill up replace ice maker again.

Need help with ice maker

thr tube leading to the ICM may be frozen. this can be removed through the back and cleaned. if it continues to freeze up it is likely the water valve.
