I am trying to find a new brake band for this machine as it has broken in half. All the local repairmen are interested in doing is selling me a new gearbox for $350, which the brake band is part of. Even a second hand one would be better than all the run-around I've hadI am trying to find a new brake band for this machine as it has broken in half. 'Twould appear that your team are unfamiliar with this particular type of machine, made by Electrolux - the brake band is external to the gearbox and is operated by solenoid thru a double lever system. Regrettably, 99.99% of the so-called fixers are mere fitters, no more interested in fixing than flying to the moon. The remaining point 01% dont have the part, sadly. only for the newer models that have a larger brake drum'Twould appear that your team are unfamiliar with this particular type of machine, made by Electrolux - the brake band is external to the gearbox and is operated by solenoid thru a double lever system. You will probably find the agitator is spinning but steel bowl isn't. Either brake release is not working or clutch problem. Not an easy fix. Best to get someone out to repair it.
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Sorry, this forum is not able to supply any type of manual, installation instructions, electrical or schematic diagrams direct; it's just made up of ordinary guys and gals, probably at home and from all over the world, with experience of addressing problems and giving guidance for free on the web ;-0)
Also members on Fixya are not 'affiliated' to, or representative of, any manufacturer at all, just using their experience gained probably over many years.
You will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make model number) washer manual' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay a nominal amount.
You could also try the manufacturer's web site direct ;-0)
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

peter mark here have s/son genesis 505 with same problem will contact you if i find an answer to my problems as it must be same problem [email protected]
Remove the link trap/Fabric Softener dispenser from the middle. You will then need a 10mm Socket and a long extension (or 2), undo the bolt in the bottom an the give the agitator a good pull (they can be REALLY tight) if the agitator still won't move put some really hot water into the machine until it covers where the bolt is/was and leave for 5 mins then try again.
Hi just read your posting. Now does the washing tangle around the agitator? In your posting you mentioned the washing not distributing around the drum.Could you confirm that your machine is a top loader for me,because the word "drum and distribute" are terms for a front loader. If your machine is a top loader which I think it is then the problem could be your brake arm or spin coil is not operating. Please reply and let me know if the clothes are tangling around the agitator.Looking forward to your reply.
