When turn on power on olympus stylus 710, the screen comes blank

My olympus stylus710 digital camera is currently not working. when we turn the camera on the lens opens and extends, quickly retracting. this happens several times before the unfocused screen turns blue...

That looks like a software error. Check that the battery is fully charged and read the manual at troubleshooting section. if you don't have one, seach on web and you`ll find it.

My Olympus Stylus 710 / 710 Digital Camera LCD screen is damage is there anyway i can fix it. The screen it feel smooth and not damage at all but when I turn it on there like cracks.

There is no other way, only u need to give it to a service expert to replace it may be it cost 30$

Stylus710 camera.XD card is there.It is showing write protect.How to disable it?

There is a white, plastic tab on the side of the card. Push it gently to the other position.

hi alexandra olympus cameras are know for having a few lens problems when ever a blue screen comes on the camera is faulty it sounds to me like you have some dirt or dust in the lens i have seen this problem a few times hope u get it sorted goodluck

when i start the camera it has nosy and lens come out and go back its posation and after that screen become blue and in hilt satuation.

Is it a WHITE screen? I had this problem with a 710 also.
It turns out that everyhting in the camera will still be perfect...except one thing---One or more of the conducting filaments in the ribbon connector (that bridges the electronics in the front and rear halves) will be found to have been broken, perhaps almost invisibly, at the fold in the ribbon.
At this point you own a "parts camera", and might get a few bucks for it on ebay. Sorry.

Since it was apparent to me that there was no way to easily change out the ribbon connector, it seeming to be bonded at both ends, it became my opinion that a repair was going to require more skill than I could or more money than I would devote to it!
