My cameras got an outty !!

My zoom lense is stuck in the out position, thought it was low battery, replaced them but nothing changed. The screen reads "zoom error".My camera is out of warranty and probably not worth repairing but its not had much use maybe 300 pics in two years, no mishaps that I know of.Do you have a solution or can you tell me how to disassemble without tearing it up with no return. Thanks

Has it had a bump lately? Most times this is caused by the camera being kept in the glovebox or similar. The drive gears for the lens are very fine and delicate. They are not easy to pull apart either.

Zoom on fuji f650 stuck

Hi Sandra, Try power reset for your camera. Turn the camera on, and without turning the camera off, open the battery door and take the batteries out. Leave it for a minute or two. This helps camera get reset and helps correct the basic functionality and also zoom error. Hope it helps u otherwise u will have to take it to authorised repair center. Good Luck.

Zoom and camera shuts off

Verify you have the right kind of battery and fully charge it.
The lense issue you describe commonly happens when the device cannot access enough power to function correctly, so it retracts and powers off to avoid getting your lense stuck in the 'out' position if the battery goes dry.

Zoom error

I had sent my camera in for the same issue and they did nothing to help with it. Seems to happen when battery gets low or dies, lack of on-screen battery meter doesn't help. Typically have to manually twist the lens to close it or open it after fresh batteries installed and then seem to fix it.

Panasonic DMC-FZ7 digital camera.

I believe the FZ7 determines that the lense cap is still on when it can't extend the zoom lense because the lense cap is in the way. I would check to see if your zoom lense housing is somehow stuck (could be sand or dirt in it) which is creating enough resistance to make the camera think the lense cap is impeding the zoom lense from extending.

Optical lense stuck in the "out" position

when i dropped my dx7630, a tiny plastic part broke that worked the holdback spring for the battery. Kodak has a repair service, or a referral service for repairs, but you have to send the camera in. i sent it in. they emailed me to say it was not a repairable part and didn't even ask if i wanted it back. luckily, i kept the memory chip. the C875 i bought was $100 cheaper and had 1M more pixels. good luck with your natural light photography from now on. i think Kodak just figures you buy a new camera whenever anything goes wrong, it'll be better and cheaper anyway.
