I am converting my old cassettes to digital format , using Audacity software.
I have an acer laptop running vista basic and have connected the Teac W-850 cassette deck to the laptop using a rca to usb cable,
the red and white phono lead is plugged into the left and right speaker outlet on the back of the tape deck and the other end is connected into the laptop via a usb port.
The laptop doesn't show anywhere on the laptop,
any one have any idea's ?
Thanks regards
Vic
I'm not sure why you are unable to see the usb device, but I am surprised you are using a speaker level output to connect to it and not a line level, which is a much smaller signal. I've never heard of an RCA to USB adapter, but I like the idea if it works. I normaly just go into the line input jack on the back when using a desktop computer. Does your laptop have a line input jack? Good luck.
