My whirlpool top load washer vibrates bad and will walk across the floor during the spin cycle even with no clothes in it. I replaced all the springs, the unit is level. I don't know what else to do.

Check the giant flywheel on the back of the drum. Sometimes, the legs that make it up start to corrode and break. When they do, the drum will wobble.

may be a bad door switch, motor coupler, clutch or tranny. have u tried running other cycles in ur timer? timer may be defective at the drain cycle, ( what happens is the time has points like a car and sometime they burn up and fuse closed, thus it will remain stuck in one position or only work in some cycles? need to do a multimeter test

if located in upper floor laundry room,you may need to compensate a weak floor by putting an absorption pad under all four legs of the washer...if the dryer next to the washer vibrates when washer is spinning,the floor is the problem,not the washer

Engage your lid switch so that washer will spin in spin cycle and watch it spin. At end of cycle when washer shuts down the tub should come to a fairly sudden stop if it doesn't then you need to have the brake worked on. If it does post your model number and i'll advise further.

kathy..theres three screws at the bottom panel...remove them,,always unplug first...and you will see your pump claen your filter,,ok onthejob,,just screw it out

UNBALANCED WASHER

Does it happen all the time, with no connection to laundry quantity? In case of a positive answer, it sound like a shock absorber issue. Could be that it's moved from its place or become malfunction and should be replaced. Good luck

Dear customer

Please perform the following checks

This may be a spin problem or a drain problem
Drain:

Make sure the drain line is clear
Check the drain hose for a partial blockage
Inspect the water pump

Spin:

Test the lid switch
Test the timer control
Test the centrifugal switch
Test the water level switch
Inspect the motor coupler
Inspect the drive belt (belt drive only)
Inspect under the washer for soot (clutch)
Test the motor
Inspect the pulley
Test the transmission

It sounds like the washing is unevenly distributed in the machine, pull some washing up and move it about and try again. I had this problem and this solution worked, hope it does for you too.
