I used my fathers scanner to scan my military service and it saved it as a jpeg,on the scanners option menu it says save as jpeg and i cant change it,any ideas or tips to get around this.I use yahoo mail and the jpegs are to large.The scanner has file,print,email and copy buttons on the front.

Scanners only save word documents as images there is no way by which a scanner will save a scanned document as a word document. Although there are 3rd party applications which can help convert your scanned items from image to word documents.
