That feature may require a box to be inline now-recently a lot of the settings for this feature have changed.

SOURCE: Cannot remove tv guide banner from Sony bravia 52'

Click on the display button (upper left corner) as a short term fix - it will turn it off immediately - not sure of how to permanently solve this though.

SOURCE: screen is all Green

New cable box recently? If not, your cable provider has probably pushed a firmware update to your cable box. Green screens are very common with HDMI connection. From your symptom, I am going to take a guess that you are connected via HDMI. If so, switch to Component cables and your problem is solved. It's not the TVs fault... cable boxes seem to be the single largest problem child for HDMI compatibility. I hope this was of some assistance.

Tv guide doesn't work anymore

I have a Sony model KDL-32BXR6 that the TV Guide first showed no listings this past weekend. Last night when I entered the Guide the screen displaying the Setup/Display Setup Progress came up stating "In Progress". Same thing this morning. Something must have changes with the input signal if this occurred with two different sets.

tip

Play psp games on tv via composite/component av cable

you will need to have:

1.a psp slim with custom firmware 3.80 or 3.90.
2.composite/component av cable.
3.installer plugin file FUSA that can be sourced in the internet e.g. qj.net.
4.memory stick pro duo with 2 gigabytes capacity.

steps:

1.source the FUSA installer file.
2.once sourced, extract it to your pc desktop using 'winrar'.
3.connect pc to psp via usb.
4.upon extraction, copy or drag all four files (prx and txt) to the 'seplugins' folder on the memory stick (ms0:/seplugins/).
5.if you don't have the 'seplugins' folder on the root of the memory stick, create it.
6.exit usb connection and completely turn off psp, then turn it back on while pressing the 'R' button to go to recovery menu.
7.on recovery menu, choose and click plugins, set the FUSA plugin to 'enable',then exit recovery menu.
8.you can also activate the plugin on the FUSA menu itself, and this is better recommended.
9.connect now psp to crt tv using component av cable.
10.load a game and after loading it,just right before clicking the 'start' button to begin play, exactly at this point, simultaneously press on the volume - and + buttons to bring out the FUSA menu.
11.after a few seconds, the FUSA menu will appear on the psp screen, change the settings accordingly, exit FUSA menu and start the game to play it on your tv.

*many games or emulators will work but not all as the FUSA file is still in its beta stage, you need to figure out which one will work or not through trial and error.use caution, this guide works but no guarantees.
*used a 2 gb memory stick pro duo as 4 gb didn't work.
*used on an interlace only tv and not progressive or crt/non-flat/lcd/plastma/hdtv's.

thanks.

Clock will not set. Channel Guide will not

The TV Guide On Screen guide will not appear if you connect the unit to your television using composite or S-Video cables and the progressive scan option is selected.

I have a dvp 3960/37 player I am trying to hookup to a Sony KV 32fs120 TV using YPrPb as a component. The Sony manual says the DVP must be Setup before connecting. The Phillips manual says to use the TV's...

If you are using the component output from the dvd player (3 wire video) progressive scan connect corresponding cable to tv . Besure to match colors. If you are getting a black and white double image you need to set the output of the dvd player to progressive scan. See owners manual for dvd player to set this. The yelow color jack on the tv is composite video and is not compatible with the 3 wire video .

New TV 9 mos old, Won't stay on after power up? Remote or manual turn on, set keeps turning off after 1-2 second green on and brief screen flash.

I would try leaving the TV unplugged for 30mins so the TV can reset itself.
If that doesn't work, your TV should still be under warranty. I know 95% of come with a 1 year warranty.
The most common problem with Sylvania TVs made by FUNAI, the Backlight Inverter board fails to early in life. ( That's the part that powers the screen)
The Tv can't power up the screen and it turns off automatically. Basically called "Protection Mode" so it protects the other parts inside the TV.

Sony KV-32FS12 Component Video 4 Has A Wavy Picture

sounds to me like the differnence between watchiing in progressive and interlace. these older tube tv's are not capable of displaying a progressive scanned image. like the first dvd players. check your video out settings on your ipod to make sure its an interlace output.

Split screen from DVD player, cable is fine no problem

It is not clear where you say input is from cable, do you mean the Scart input to your Sony TV? Do not use Progressive scan(p), as this is not interlaced. The normal TV requires an interlaced(i) picture of 50 half frames per second giving 25 complete pictures per second to reduce flicker. Some TVs and projectors and all monitors accept Progressive scan.

Stuck in progressive scan mode

You need to be sure to remove the discs from the disc changer and close the disc changer. Make sure that your TV is on the Blue Screen and it should say " Progressive Scan Mode" Press and hold the stop button on the unit....not the remote for 5 seconds or more and it should reset. However, if your TV is a Progressive Scan compatible TV, you may need to refer to the user guide for the TV as well....Many newer TVs Use a Progressive Scan Setup, but this solution should still work for you. Make sure all discs are removed FIRST!!!
