Intermitent no sound on digital, KDL26S4000 sony bravia TV

Every so often the sound on my TV goes on digital tv only, the sound on the analog transmission is OK, it's usually happens when pressing the favorite button to change channel, to fix it i turn the TV off and then on, it's a brand new TV, and it's a replacement TV as the first one had the same problem.

I received a reply from "Selvol" and I'm trying it for the last 3 days and so far i works, but as the problem was intermittent I would like to wait a little longer before rating the answer.
    thanks

Well, last night while changing the channel the sound went off AGAIN, this time I turn the intelligent sound OFF i suppose it's the "steady sound" that Selvol was talking about, so will see if that fix it.

sony says that the problem is with the digital tuner, and they gave me a new TV, will see what happens.

Try going in the settings and turning off "Steady sound". Or turn the audio setting to stereo, disable surround sound.

Steady Sound
You don't have to listen to commercials at a higher volume than the normal programming. This TV has a volume equalization feature for both program and commercials to enhance your audio entertainment.

Hi, I have a sony bravia tv ( klv20G300A) which was bought in Hong Kong about3 years ago . I haven't been able to get it to work with the uk digital signal. I am wondering about it's compatibility-...

This tv has analog tuner and you need digital tuner in tv to get digital signal in UK, alternate way is to hook cable box with this tv that will convert digital signal into AV output that will connect to AV input of tv to get cable channels.

With my Sony Bravia 46" xbr the screen keeps cutting out. I'm usig hdmi cables and can't find a reason why te tv keeps cutting out. The sound still remains but picture doesn't. Not even out technician can...

Usually this happens to my set when I am in HD cable channel mode after being on a non-digital ANALOG channel.

I basically reset the TV by changing to a DIGITAL cable channel -- stay on that channel for ten-twenty seconds -- then I switch back DIRECTLY to a HD channel (key in channel number directly on remote).

TV works fine -- seems to be a glitch when the TV changes modes from Analog to HD

No sound when in tv/video mode

Do you have it connected with HDMI? If so, run the HDMI directly to the TV and run an optical or digital coaxial to the receiver. That will solve the problem. If that's not the case, go into the receiver's main audio menu and make sure it's set to "auto" or "digital" or "analog" whichever you are running. Hope this helps

Sony Trinirton TV and DAV-HDX 275 System

Here are a couple of the most common reasons for your problem:

Make sure you have selected the right input source on the DAV-HDX275 that your TV station source (cable, satellite, direct TV or whatever you get TV stations from) is connected to on the DAV-HDX275.

Also make sure that if you are using a digital input (HDMI, optical, or coaxial) from the TV station source, that the DAV-HDX275 in set for a digital input and on the right source.

If you are using an analog source (red and white RCA jacks) for the TV stations , make sure you do not have the digital input activated for that source on the DAV-HD275. You need to select the analog option.

You must also be sure that you have a cable, whether it is analog or digital, connected from the cable box to the DAV-HD275.

I hope this was helpful to you, it is always very important to double check all the connections and make sure the stereo is set to the right type of input (digital or analog).

If you have found this to be helpful, a good rating is always appreciated. Thanks and let me know if you need any more help.

Picture turns off sound is on

Hi Anya, Im sorry to hear of your difficulties but very happy to know im not alone. I have the same exact Sony model and the same exact problem. I wasnt sure if it was my Tv or my upconvert Sansung DVD player. I spoke with Sony assistance..and well..they were of no assistance. They blamed it on my HDMI cable, then the dvd's i was playing, then the dvd player itself. I ruled out all of the above. Mine goes black when i play a dvd in the upconvert format (720p or 1080i) otherwise known as digital..but the analog signal goes through fine. Luckily i am within my 30 days since I bought it, so now that I have seen your posting and am certain its a tv issue, I think i will return it and buy a Samsun tv (a great alternative for same price with only drawback being a glossy screen=not good for bright rooms but amazing color clarity). Sorry I dont have answer for the problem other than your not alone on this one. I have read other Sony users listing similar issues. I hope all goes well with you and wish you the best Matthew
