I have the same problem--it is the heating element. Bad news is they don't make the part anymore. The solution from maytag.com is to buy a new one and they will reimburse you 15%...not a very good solution considering how much this one cost and the amount of years it has been used.
If you find a place that sells the heating element please post!

the problem is with its motherboard .. i too had the same problem.. ask the repairing persons to change the motherboard if it is warranted. ( but there is no other way)..

I found that the code is for a thermisor and it says to check the wiring. I don't have any manuals with the unit. How can I check to make sure the thermistor is bad before I order a new one?
Do you know what resistance it should read across the contacts?
The dryer came with the house that I bought and they did not leave the manual and there isn't a wiring diagram anywhere inside it. Does anyone know how I can get a copy of the service manual with wiring diagrams?
