Motorola Q - MMS

I do not have the MMS option on my phone for sending photo messages...and it appears for receiving them either. The Motorola how-to guide shows this option, but it is no where to be found on my phone. Does anyone know how to get it back? If it means doing a master restore, I can do that b/c I can sync my phone w/ my computer.

Thanks

SOURCE: motorola Q ( phone off)

Your phone may be in flight mode. Hold the home key until quick menu comes up and either select "Flight Mode off"

...or...

Select Wireless Manager, then highlight "Phone" and hit the center button.

What service provider are you trying to use the phone with?
If Verizon, this should be by default in the phone's settings. Ensure it is enabled on your plan.
Your Service Provider may be able to push the settings through the network. I don't believe there is an option for MMSC settings on the CDMA phones.

I cannot receive multimedia mail. How do I get it to work?

here is a general procedure to understand how MMS works. In this procedure, a photo is being sent to another compatible phone.
    • Step one: Take a photo from your built-in camera phone or download via the Internet.
    • Step two: Personalize the text, graphics, audio or video clips.
    • Step three: Add recipients' number and send.
The recipient on the other side will receive a message alert. Once he opens the message, a picture message will appear on the screen. If there is any text, it will appear below the image. In case, you send MMS to a non-compatible cell phone - the recipient will a SMS with a default line, "You have been sent a picture message!"
There are many challenges that exist with MMS:
    • Adaptation of multimedia content: There may be a difference in the compatibility of multimedia content for different brands of cell phones. If the network operator is supporting your content adaptation - you can enjoy compatibility with more networks and vice versa.
    • Cell phone configuration: Multimedia Messaging Service requires some parameters to be correctly placed in you handset. Sometimes, due to poor configuration, you may not receive messages.
    • Bulk messaging: Sometimes, if you send MMS to a large number of subscribers, there might be some difficulty in sending messages. Now transactional overloads are being optimized.
Moreover, there are several similar terms such as Enhanced Messaging Service (EMS) - very similar to SMS (Short Messaging Service), allowing you to send or receive messages with some special text formatting options such as bold, color, sound effect, icons, etc.

You have to contact your service provider to receive the GPRS and MMS configuration messages on your phone.Once you have received it, you have to save them to your phone. Now you can access the internet and send photos and videos via MMS on your phone.

Cannot send or receive photo on mobile

Make sure your phone is capable. Then contact your service provider to make sure that you have a data feature active. The data feature is what changes an sms to an mms since the picture is sent through the text message as an attachment that needs opened through the web browser.

    Hi dude,
    I m sorry. U lack knowledge regarding about SMS/MMS.
SMS=short messaging. It is only for text messages.
Similarly, MMS=multimedia messaging. It is for sending text with animations or photos, video clips, etc.
U need to have MMS connection in ur mobile to send text with animations.

    Help!

Your phone ran out of memory and the only way the messages could be sent or received is through mms on the phone. You need to clear out the in and out box often so the phone will not do this. Also you must reboot the phone after you have cleared out the in and out box. Then it should work.
