My hotpoint washing machine is really loud when it is spinning?
Suspect bearings. With door open wiggle the top of the silver drum If it moves up and down inside the tub, replace the bearings
It's quite an involved job! It involves removing the drum from the tub. The bearings are on a spider on the back of the drum. It can be quite costly, and I would probably suggest a new machine may be a better option, selling the old one for spares (timer control, pressure switch, pump, motor, etc,if all working)

this definatley bearing trouble. its one where you can fix yourself ONLY if your willing to take up the whole day doing it..
The problem with bearings is that once you get to them, it can be tricky taking them out of the shaft because they can crack and leave the outer shell of the bearing in the machine.
if you wanna try it your self then i have a similar solution you can use posted for a wma. the only thing diffrence is that its easier than the wma..

SOURCE: Hotpoint VBSR2080WOWW washing machine vibrates with loud noise
hi,
this is a generic problem with top-loading washing machines. when the distribution of load is not uniform, it gives sound when spinning. if it produces noise even after equal distribution of clothes, the problem lies in the suspension. this is not a major fault, and can be put up with, rather than spending dollars on fixing it. this will in no way cause any special wear and tear for the machine.
cheers
