Unable to view photos i have taken, Screen says Read Error

After i have taken a photo i am unable to view it as the LCD screen shows a blue square 'running' around itself (like the Mac beach ball!). Sometimes it doesn't do that but says Read Error, instead.

If your photos are stored on the memory card, then removethe memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader.Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of yourworking computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device oran external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card andcopy the photos to your computer.Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. Youcan copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off yourmemory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing anyprograms.

Testimonial: "Thanks Chris, that is an idea. I actually restored the factory settings on it, thanks to another suggestion from a friend, and everything seems to be back to normal. Thanks again."

SOURCE: d70s lcd screen is black

The D70S is a SLR (single lens reflex). You cannot use the LCD for taking pictures like the small compact digital cameras. There is no way for the CCD sensor to have any image prior to taking since it is behind the mirror and the shutter is closed.

SOURCE: my canon sd10 digital camera lcd balnk/black bu

Had the same problem with my SD10. The switch in the AV port sometimes gets dirty or corroded, and tricks the camera into thinking that an AV plug is inserted. This will turn off the screen.

To fix it, repeatedly insert and remove an AV cable into the port several times. This may help break off any corrosion or dirt that may be holding this switch open.

I solve the problem of extreme reflection in the lcd screen.

I assume you're talking about pictures taken outside on a sunny day. All cameras are hard to see in bright light.

Unable to actually see the photo in progress in the lcd!

I suppose you are referring to EOS XSi.
Hit the menu button
Go to the fifth menu, and choose the "Live View function settings"
On "Live Viwe shoot." select "Enable" option"
Go back to shooting modes.
The option works only with non automatic modes.
Hit the "SET" button each time you want to see the current picture in the screen, instead through the viewfinder.
Set to MF on the lens switch "AF-MF"

Please let me now if it works.

LCD Screen does not work properly

Your camera works just like a film camera SLR,. You use the eyepiece to frame and focus your picture. The LCD screen is for reviewing pictures taken or menu operations. You cannot preview a shot on screen before it is taken with the camera.

File error

I have seen this problem with generic SD memory cards so it could be a faulty memory stick.  Try to get a replacement.  If you want to try to recover the pictures you have taken, I suggest Zero Assumption Recovery (Google for it). Check to see if it is compatible with your camera before downloading.
