Dcr trv245e my camera keeps coming up with the error code c3123 and i cant do anything with it.

This is one of the most common problems on sony camcorders. It is caused by the loosening or loss of the rubber roller inside the tape drive mechanism. Try tapping the top of the cam when the tape is inside. If this doesnt work, open the tape deck and look inside to see if you can spot a single rubber roller inside. If not, then the roller has worked itself loose or gone AWOL missing..:(( However, fear not...the solution for this is to go to an office supply store and obtain one of those compressed air cans used for dusting off keyboards and such. Amazingly, the plastic tip on the compressed air can (where the air comes out) can be used as a replacement for this rubber roller. It fits the metal spindle that formerly held the roller perfectly and allows the cam to function without the rubber roller and without the dreaded C31:23 "your camera is dead and useless and will no longer function" evil Sony message... O heck my friend, this is mostly a problem with a stupid delicate cylinder within the camera tape area that can (does ) drop off, some times the camera will work 10 or so minutes then stop, some time just changing your camera cass tape will make it work for a while then stop again.
It is simply a bad design on Sony cameras you can call Sony for help, if you look for Sony camera service centre in your country on the internet you will see number to get help.

The error code that your unit is now producing indicates that it is experiencing a tape transport problem - specifically that the takeup reel is leaving slack out of the cassette. This may have led to tape becoming caught in the mechanism and hence the cassette will not eject. This is one scenario although unfortunately it is not the only possibility.
The unit will probably need to go to a professional to have the cassette manually removed and the cause of the fault condition identified and rectified.

The camcorder has to have it's belts cleaned or replaced. This is a highly intricate proceedure and should be done proffessionally.Thank you, Dana
