Lock and Demo Play Display

I seem to have pressed the play and eject buttons on my system and the display showed Lock then Demo Play. There is no disc in the tray. The manual says consult a service centre when the display shows this. I got my system in May from the US and I do not have a Sony Service centre in my country. Is there a way to rectify this problem?

Refer to the manual and do a cold reset.

While the demo is playing you must press "Play"and "Stop" buttons, then display shows DEMO OFF and you can now take the DEMO CD out.
In some models you need to turn off the power and turn it on while pressing the EJECT Butoom.

I have a cda-9883 alpine that is in demo how can i take it off demo and have it play normal?

hold down the function button until the display changes. you can then toggle things like dimmer ,aux, and demo by turning volume control. when you see demo push the play/pause button which will then allow you to turn it off by again turning the volume button. once its off press play/pause button which will allow you to toggle other functions. then hold function key down again to get back to main display(main display will eventually return on its own)

We have a Samsung Digital Home Theater System HT-DM150. After some guests were fiddling with the remote, we find that we cannot eject a DVD that was inserted. The DVD plays OK, but when we try to eject,...

Samsung Home Theater Systems have a Dealer Lock or Tray Lock Function that prevents the disc tray from being opened.
There are four procedures for turning off the Dealer Lock function. Try one, then the other, to see which works on your system.
Unlocking Procedure 1 To turn off the Dealer Lock function, follow these steps:
  1. Turn on your Home Theater System.
  2. Press the Stop button on the front panel and the Power button on the remote control simultaneously for four seconds.
Note: Repeating the two steps above turns the dealer lock on again.
Unlocking Procedure 2 To turn off the Dealer Lock function, follow these steps
  1. Turn on your Home Theater System.
  2. Press and hold the Function button on the front panel for 3 seconds. The display shows the word Unlock.
Note: Repeating the two steps above turns the dealer lock on again.
Unlocking Procedure 3 To turn off the Dealer Lock function, follow these steps
  1. Turn on your Home Theater System.
  2. Press and hold the Open/Close button on the DVD player on the front panel for more than 4 seconds.
Note: Repeating the two steps above turns Dealer Lock on again.
Unlocking Procedure 4 To turn off the Dealer Lock function, follow these steps
  1. Using the HTS remote press the Menu button + 712, and the HTS will display CAN OPEN.
The Dealer Lock feature is mainly used by retailers to ensure that the display discs are not removed. However, parents of young children may find this feature very useful as well.

Dvd player wont play

I found this on the PROSCAN website under customer support manuals. The website is www.oncorpus.com.I hope this information helps you with your problem. IMPORTANT THE LABEL SIDE OF THE DVD MUST FACE THE BACK SIDE OF THE TELEVISION 1. Press the ‘INPUT’ button to select ‘DVD’ mode, if no disc is inserted yet, the display shows ‘No Disc’.
2.Insert a DVD with the printed side facing towards the rear of the TV/DVD Player (see below)
3.The TV will first display ‘Loading’, then change to ‘DVD-video’. Most DVDs will show some preliminary
information then stop at a main menu screen.
4. Press PLAY/PAUSE to play it directly. Or press the DVD-MENU button to access the disc menu during
playback.
5.Use the direction button on the remote control to select the desired option. Press ENTER to select the
option or press the ► button. Playback will now commence.
6.After playback, press the EJECT button on remote control or EJECT button on TV/DVD to remove the
disc.
Note: No function‘’ will sometimes appear on the screen after a button is pressed. This indicates that the
function is not supported at the current time.
