My TV seems to have a mind of it's own. It keeps shutting down without any input by whoever is watching. When turned back on, it will sometimes stay on all day without any other interruption of viewing. Other times it will shut down 3-5-8-times in a 1/2 hr period before staying on. Other days it may shut down only once during the day, or not shut down at all! I have vaccumed out the vents, the fan is running, I tightened All the electric power connections including all connections in the main circut breaker box. Picture is fine when operating, cable Co checked input signal everything is OK. Thanks in advance, Dave, Palm Bay FL

Most probably it looks like a pre convergence issue which can be related to replacement of pico fuse and the bulbs too. Get a good technician who can identify the correct part and replace it.
Try turning off the power to your console using the power switch in the back (first shut it down properly). Unplug the AV cables (if applicable) and the plug in the HDMI cable. Turn on the system and switch your input on your Television to HDMI. (Keep in mind that there may be a few inputs; HDMI1, HDMI2, etc.) The HDMI connection takes a few seconds so be patient. If that doesn't work, re post or ask to chat.
Pepper,
It seems that you installed something that is causing this problem. What happens is that when you shut Windows down, it has to close all programs running, whether in the foreground or in the background. Now, when all programs are shutting down properly then there is no problem. But when some one decides to resists the shutting down then Windows takes longer to abide by your instructions. You have to find out this/these program/s that you installed recently. Uninstall them if you can do without them. Alternatively close them manually before shutting down. What programs are these? That you alone can find out.
Another reason. Does Windows seem to take longer while "Saving Your Settings"? If that happens, then there may be something wrong with Windows. Be prepared to reinstall Windows. Do not get alarmed, but just keep it at the back of your mind. Keep taking backups of your data regularly to be on the safe side.
Once before I had this same problem and FixYa gave me the solution. When you replace the lamp door, there is a switch inside so be sure the door is put in at an angle so to hold the switch up. It solved my problem after numerous repairmen missed it.
You may need to consult with whoever you're living with. Seems you got pranked. If you live by your lonesome, keep in mind that only you can put in a user password. This miracle of some virus, or act of something, is not possible. To my knowledge that kind of virus has to be user specific. Targeting you only. Contact Toshiba for password woes.
Push the menu and inputs buttons on the set in both together and hold for 8 seconds this should make the led flash a two digit code. Let me know what happens after doing this test.
Yes, if you are handy, you can leave an e-mail address and I can send you a how to do repair guide with the factory service manual for your TV set and you will save at least 800 to 1000 bucks!
