Question about Olympia Manual Typewriter
My typewriter is in fantastic shape, except that it always stops in the middle of the carriage when typing. By hitting the shift key, some mechanism is released and I can continue typing. I just want to know how to permanently disable this stopping mechanism. Any suggestions?

Mant portables have a lock to hold the carriage in place while in the case, on the rt. or left sides below the carriage.
Hope this helps

Parts are not going to be available for that typewriter anymore. That means you have to get creative. Either go to your local hardware store or a Home Depot. and look for rubber bumpers that you might affix to the bottom of something to prevent it from scratching a surface. Yous should be able to find something like that in the hardware section.
