SOURCE: Popped off key on macbook

Well, you can pop the key back in , but you have to line up the hinge part to the 2 joints on the membrane. If you're not sure, make the appointment and take thr drive, it's worth not voiding your warranty incase something else costly might happen down the rod. I know its a pain, but if that is the only issue, than you're.

SOURCE: macbook will not connect to wireless connection.

Since you mentioned that you moved your computer from one place o another, you need to make sure that there's no possible interference between the computer and the router (i.e. thick wall, glass door and other wireless device). You have to make sure that the Mac book is away from a wireless phone that might interfere with the wireless signal.

Another thing, you may try changing the channel of your router, if it is set to channel 6, try using 4 or 8.

Try to disable and re-enable the airport of the Mac book and see if that would work.

Last, try connecting into different router.

HAve a great day!

SOURCE: Airport connection says Connection Timed Out.

I don't think this is a problem with your macbook, it is probably a problem with the wireless router that is broadcasting the connection. Try restarting the router and connecting then.

SOURCE: Intel Macbook Flashing Folder, wont boot DVD

Just a note--any Universal retail OSX install disc will work. It's only a machine specific disc that won't unless it's for your model.

I ended up with Laptop Screen bubbles somehow

When installing the screen protector wipe the display with a damp cloth first, that will allow the air to escape when encouraged by gentle pressure.
Work the air out from the centre to the outer.

Bought brand new Apple MacBook Air from Amazon. It has a username and PASSWORD. Thus I cannot get into my own new computer. What do I do?

If you mean that the very first time you started the computer, you did not get a chance to set it up, then you should return the computer to Amazon or to your nearest Apple Store. Although it is possible to change a password from the Restore screen, you should return it because it is not a new computer, and because it might be compromised.

Why does my MacBook Air keep telling me that my facebook account is locked?

This may have more to do with your Facebook account than with your MacBook itself. Try signing into Facebook from another computer using your user name and password. If your account is OK, change your password. Go back to your macBook and log in with your news password. I have the problem with my Ipad sometimes. Often Facebook will send you a message apologizing for problems logging in. Try logging in from that message.

Reset my apple password

It depends on the OS X version, but Apple's instructions for Snow Leopard, and previous, versions, are described or linked at OS Changing or resetting an account password Snow Leopard and earlier

However, the easiest route would be to contact the eBay seller for the password that they set.

My apple macbook air shows a question mark when i turn it on

Resetting the PRAM may do the trick:
You reset the PRAM by rebooting a Mac and then immediately hold down the Command+Option+P+R keys, you will then hear the Mac reboot sound again, signifying your PRAM has been reset. You must hit the key combination before the grey screen appears otherwise it won't work.

you've tried rebooting, you've reset the PRAM, you've done it all, but your Mac is still behaving strangely. What next? In certain circumstances, resetting your Mac's System Management Controller (SMC) can be a solution. This is sometimes necessary to restore normal lower level system functionality to your Mac.

Here's how to reset the SMC on any type of Mac (and any version of OS X) and the type of problems that it may resolve.
When & Why Reset SMC on a Mac? Some Common Hardware Reasons

Typically it's power and hardware related issues that can be helped or resolved by resetting a Mac SMC, particularly if you're having these types of problems:

* Issues with your Mac's cooling fans and fan management: fans run constantly at high speed, fans run high despite low CPU usage and adequate ventilation, fans not working at all, etc

* Power management and battery problems: Mac isn't turning on, sleep isn't working, random shutdowns and reboots, battery isn't charging, Mac won't wake from sleep etc

* Light problems and improper lighting management: battery indicator lights aren't working, display backlighting isn't adjusting to ambient light changes, keyboard backlights not working, etc

* Video and external displays not working: display brightness functionality not working properly, target video mode isn't working properly, external display isn't working, etc

* General performance and functionality problems: abnormally sluggish behavior despite no CPU or disk usage, external ports not working, airport & bluetooth aren't showing up, external devices are not being found, etc

So now that you've concluded you need to reset your SMC (Note that the SMC is on Intel Mac's only), here's how to do it on MacBook's, MacBook Pro's, iMac's, Mac Mini's, and Mac Pro's. Notice that the reset instructions are different for MacBook and MacBook Pro's if you have an internal or detachable battery.
Reset SMC of a MacBook Air, MacBook Pro Retina, or MacBook Pro's with an internal non-removable battery

This is how to reset SMC on most modern Mac laptops:

Shutdown your MacBook Air / MacBook Pro
Connect the power adapter to your Mac
On the MacBook/Pro's keyboard, hold down the Shift+Control+Option keys and the Power button at the same time
Release all keys and the power button at the same time
Boot your Mac as usual

Here's the key sequence to hold down:

Reset the SMC of a MacBook Air or Retina MacBook Pro

Do keep in mind that by resetting the SMC you will lose power specific settings, like the time it takes to sleep a Mac and other customizations to power settings. No big deal, but if you have made many changes to your hardware behavior you will want to adjust stuff like sleep behavior again.
Reset SMC of an iMac, Mac Pro, Mac Mini

Resetting SMC is different for non-portable Macs:

Shut down your Mac
Disconnect the power cord
Press and hold the Mac's power button for 5 seconds
Release the button
Reattach the power cables and boot the Mac as usual

Reset the SMC of a MacBook or MacBook Pro's with detachable batteries

mac reset the smc Older MacBook laptops with a removable battery can reset SMC with the following approach:

Shutdown the MacBook/Pro and remove the battery
Disconnect the power adapter, hold the Power Key for 10 seconds
Release the power key and reconnect your battery and power adapter
Turn your Mac on
Let boot as usual

Hopefully that will clear up your problems, if not it might be worth a visit to the Apple Store or a certified repair center.

Happy New Year,
Kerry

How do i turn on the radio on the macbook air

Hi Peggy, Go to your menu bar in the top-right corner of the screen. Just to the ,left of the clock you will see a little fan-shaped symbol.
If it is just an outline shape then the wifi is turned off.
Click o0n it and hold the click. A menu will appear and one of the entries will be "turn Airport on"(or turn WiFi on - they have changed the wording recently).
Select that line and wait a moment. The Fan icon will change into 3 grey bars (but still in the same fan shape). The bars will cycle through balck while the wifi looks for base stations. It will then say something like "none of your trusted networks are available, do you want to connect to any of these?" and it will show yuou a list of the base stations it can see. Those with a padlock next to them will require a password. Once you have selected a network and made the connection, the computer will remember it for the next time so you won't have to go through this again.
If the wireless doesn\t turn on and stays with the outline icon, then you need to get the Mac looked at.

Just bought mac air. set up picture and password. turned off. turned on wont accept password! so frustrating !

Could be as simple as you have the caps lock on, the password is case-dependent.

If not, you can reset your password by booting up the mac with the system disk (usualy disk 1 of the instal disks supplied) hold down the c key on your keyboard once it has booted up go to the menus and you will see a change the password item, use this to change the password. Once you have changed it quit out of the install disk and restart Hope this helps.

Macbook Screen Error

Does it only show up when the computer is on? There were a few reports of several MacBooks having video card issues that caused this problem. Take it to an Apple store and have a Mac Genius look at it to confirm.
