Same deal, both inputs give same indication. I just bought this TV a few hours ago, my cable box works fine on both inputs, but the PS3 gives the TV an "Invalid format" code. My PS3 was set up for a 1080p television, but I thought it would automatically scale the output down. Am I wrong? Help!Same deal, both inputs give same indication. This happens when you change the output settings to HD, then switch back to regular a/v because the tv dosen't recognize the signal. Thankfully there is an easy fix. Just turn the PS3 system on using the power button on the front and continue to hold it until you hear a second "beep" sound from the system. then picture should beging to work again.
If you accidentally set your PS 3 for 1080p resolution, when the TV can only support 720p, you get a black screen. The Westinghouse TV I used displayed a message that said "invalid format." To reset the PS 3 to the standard AV format, you shut the PS 3 off. Then you hold the PS 3’s power button down for about 10 seconds. It will reset to standard video
I have looked up the infomation on your TV I noticed that your TV has two HDMI input plugs. Since your SONY BRAVIA is hooked up to one port, you need to buy another HDMI cable for your PS3. On your tv remote you should have an option to switch from video 1 to video 2 so then you can switch from the SONY BRAVIA to the PS3 the problem is you will only hear your PS3 Sound from you TV. If you want to hear your PS3 sound from your SONY BRAVIA you need to buy an optical cable (also called TOSLINK) to connect from your PS3 to the SONY BRAVIA.
plug in hdmi cable turn ps3 off then on wait and a message will apera click yes then another message appers then click yes then it should work if not connect with the red white yellow plug and then change the settings to hdmi and plug the hdmi cable in
