Weber genesis I have a 2 year old Weber Genesis 3 Burner Gas Brill. When my tank is close to empty (but not completely empty) the grill does not get as hot. I had a much older Weber genesis and it never had this problem.

SOURCE: i have weber genesis 3

Hello,

When you switched it out did you contact www.weber.com
to see if this can be done on this grill. Weber is different than a lot of other grills usually their larger models they can be converted but their smaller models can not. This might be something you need to check with the company.

I know with Weber that it doesn't consist of change out the hose and a orifice they also change out the manifold.. So please check with Weber for these answers.

Thank you,
Fireplace-girl

SOURCE: My Weber Genesis is 11 years old

There is probably nothing wrong with your grill. Most likely because of how you shut off the grill the last time it was used has caused the regulator to engage its leak detection device.
There is an easy fix that won't cost you a thing.
Call us at 305-666-3312 & we'll go over the instructions.

I thoroughly cleaned my Weber Genesis Silver A and have a full tank of gas. It won't get hotter than 250-300 degrees. Flames are blue.

You might have air block. When turning off the grill, leave one burner on and shut the tank valve.
When grill cools, close the remaining valve. When restarting the grill, open the tank valve, then the start burner, then the igniter. When first burner is going, open remaining two valves to preheat the grill.

This has worked on two different grills.

An odd thing with many propane gas grills is how the regulator functions. If the tank is opened too fast the regulator over-adjusts and delivers no gas. Try this: Turn tank off and open all burner controls. This should clear the line of any gas. Close burner controls and open tank very slow. Now lite and temp should go up.

Our weber grill is suddenly getting too hot... even with only 1 of the 3 burners turned on it is over 400 degrees... any ideas?

Sounds like the regulator is not controlling the flow of gas. Try this. 1. Turn gas tank and burner control knobs off. 2. Turn tank valve on VERY slow. 3. Open front burner knob on and lite grill. Wait a minute and turn on addition burners, (if needed).

Weber won't get very hot

Safety valve needs reset.
  • Close the LP tank valve
  • Turn all burner control knobs to the OFF position
  • Open the grill lid
  • Turn the LP tank valve until it is completely open
  • Wait several seconds
  • Turn the front burner to the HI/Start position
  • Press the igniter until the burner is lit.
  • Turn remaining burners to High
  • Close the lid.
  • The grill should preheat to 500-550 degrees in 10-15 minutes
I called Weber and the rep walked me through the reset. All grills made after 1996 have this bypass valve.

Gas grill not lighting

Sounds like you have a faulty regulator. If you replace this make sure that you get a replacement of the same size.
