Viking professional 30 inch, sparking problem

The oven ignition keeps sparking when the oven is lit or not lit.
I've a viking professional 30 inch, clean it up perfect, checked all connections. I have to cut the breakers at th emain panel to shut down the sparking and the other kitchen outlets at the same time. No matter what burner I use, ALL 4 burners spark when the breaker is ON. can you save me?Nicolas

If you have replaced the spark module with the new, blue PA020041 Tytronics 0+4 spark module, the physical positions of the leads that go to the burner igniters are reversed compared to the positions on the old, white module. Make sure that the switch wire for the burner and the position of the spark wire both go to the same burner! The positions are marked on the white label with green lettering.

You need a new wire harness that has the ignitor switches on it. I believe viking calls it the ignition switch.

Viking 30" gas professional series cooktop sparking problem

And before that Most likely one of the ignition switches (they are under knobs) got shorted possibly due to spilled liquid or a cleaning stuff sprayed on. In that case it should stop sparking after a switch drys. Still no go replace the spark control unit.

Rv cooktop range 22 series

hi,

it sounds like the oven safety valve is bad, it will reach a point when the pilot will make enough energy to keep itself lit, but not enough to open the gas valve to light. it will need to be replaced. if you are handy you can do this, but make sure you shut off the gas to the range first. you should be able to find a replacement online, if not check with a local LP gas company that sells parts to the public.

Ignite problem

imfornu, under each burner control is a valve and a switch that controls the spark to each burner. Sometimes these switches become wet or short out. In this case it sounds like yours is shorted in the closed position and therefore the spark. These switches run on a harness across each burner control valve..I believe the part number is PG220020, you can look it up on the net to get an idea of what it looks like...Catriver..post back.
