If you have a La Pavoni lever model espresso machine and the safety assembley on the top right hisses while the machine is heating up, all you have to do is use something hard but preferably not metal or too large and tap the safety assembly quite firmly but not to hard and this should stop the hissing. This is because inside the assembly there is a bung on a spring and sometimes it becomes stuck and just needs a gentle tap to free it up. If it doesn't stop hissing then you can remove and stretch the spring or if needs be replace the spring and bung.
