The tv is not even a year old yet, and out of the blue the t.v stopped receiving channels. So i tried to rescan and it showed no signal strength. i tried a different antenna and the same result occurred. Is there a problem with the tuner? I remember before when the t.v did work, if i changed the channel i was on for a while, and start flipping through, the channels would stop changing all of a sudden the t.v flickered and went to the channel i was on for a while before i changed them. please, need a result. Thanks!
It could be the tuner but you have a few options.
First is unplug the set and or a cable or sat box and wait a while. Plug back in to see if set/box will reboot.
Another option if you have or get a Box is get one with the audio/video output jacks on the back and connect it to the same type on the rear of your set-----Bypass the tuner and operate via that input changing channels on the box.

An email from Westinghouse that fixed the problem for me.
Thank you for your inquiry.
We apologize for any inconvenience in waiting for our response, but below is what I can suggest to move forward.
It appears all you need to do is run a channel scan on the unit. Once you have run a channel scan, you will be able to scroll through the channels using the channel up and down buttons.

I carried my Westinghouse TV to the basement. Unplugged the antenna from the digital converter box and connected it to my digital TV. I then re-scanned for channels and found channel 9. After carrying the Westinghouse TV back upstairs, I connected the original set-up and tuned to channel 9 which was now showing on the screen as no signal. From that point I moved my VHF dipoles until I had located the correct position for reception. A little labor intensive, but I was fortunate to have another antenna that was receiving channel 9.

I ran the Auto Scan. Before the scan reached 91%, I pressed the Menu button on my remote and all of the channels that it found locked in.

The atsc or qam tuner in your Westinghouse LTV-32W3 HDTV is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced. Unfortunately you will need to purchase a new mainboard since it is integrated. Another option is to return to using an external tuner like your cable box.

These TVs are notorious for backlight inverter problem. You could look for a complete backlight board(this will be easier if you're not a tech), or you can replace the transformer and transistor(transistor doesn't always go - sometimes you get lucky). The transformer that is bad will have a small burn mark in it where one of the legs comes up from the board. If I was you I would just replace the board since it's easier. I have done about a half dozen of these. Joe
