Hi my samsung s860 camera told me that i needed to replace the batteries and then it froze with the lens still out. do you know how to revive my camera without taking it in to be fixed? i tried new batteries but it still wont work
I have the same exact problem! I also noticed that when I change my sound settings and restart he camera that it reverts back to the old settings. This camera is a piece of junk! i have kind of the smae problem too! I replaced the batteries after they dies and now my camera will not switch back on at all! when you press the on but it just flashes green but doesn't actually do anything even if i try charging it. what should i do??i have kind of the smae problem too! i have the same kind of problem. i went to turn my camera off and the lens went in half way and froze. i tried to turn it back on, and the green light came on, the screen stayed black and the lens stayed frozen. i changed the batteries and then tried to turn it on and it did the same thing. so i plugged it into my computer and my computer didn't even detect it. so i don't know what to do.i have the same kind of problem. i went to turn my camera off and the lens went in half way and froze. i tried to turn it back on, and the green light came on, the screen stayed black and the lens stayed frozen. i changed the batteries and then tried to turn it on and it did the same thing. so i plugged it into my computer and my computer didn't even detect it. so i don't know what to do.

Hi, There is no issue with the battries, the problem is with the lens which is not opening, So that you need to repair the optical unit or to replace it. For both condition you should contact any repairman nearby. Thanks
Is the lens stuck? Does the camera come on at all. If not, then the camera may need repair. It may not be worth repairing, in which case you may want ot sell it as a camera for repair or parts on a site such as Ebay. (include all that came with it, and you may get more).

I found that cheap (new) batteries will not work in my camera. Duracell or Rayovac seem to work best. I added 2 (new) cheaper batteries it took 1 picture the lenses would not retract and the battery light flickered. I found 2 new Durnacell and it works fine now. Hope this helps.
you need to take it to a camera shop, they probally have this problem more then you might imagine. They could replace the lens, as you have had the camrea only 7 months, its probally still under the manufactuer warranty. look for the manufactuer contact details in the booklet which came with the camera and give them a ring
I hate to say it but your camera needs to be serviced. Might not be worth the repair. Try to take it to a local repair center that would offer you a free estimate....
