SOURCE: need to go to factory settings

AS SOON AS YOU TURN IT ON THE "HP" LOGO COMES OUT , look down on your screen where it says " RECOVERY " , I think is F10 or F2 and follow instructions from there , and select advance recovery , it will caution you that this option will destroy every file and programs you put in it , setting it to the DEFAULT SETTING or the FACTORY SETTINGS , like taking it out of the box for the first time. hope it helps AJ

SOURCE: Can't find a driver for 64 mb allocated vidio

Per HP support this computer does not support windows vista. They are saying no driver for video. I have also checked driver guide site since i am member and only XP drivers. If this is on-board video card you might have to wait and see does hp put out these drivers or some how some one gets it to work. Good luck with this.

How to reset my computer HP Pavilion back to factory settings(?)

As long as you havn't deleted the 'hidden partition oir 'formatted your hard disk. then you will be able to 'reset to factory'

The method used to restore software and drivers depends on the operating system that was originally installed on your notebook PC.

There are several pages at HP for your machine. I think this one may be what you want.
You use the F11 key to start recoverry

Restore to factory condition

Launch the HP recovery application that should be installed on your computer. Then select the factory reset option. This will boot the computer into a small partition that will allow the computer to reformat and restore back to factory standards. Please note that selecting this will delete all data on your machine. Please Help with a system recovery on a HP pavilion a1253w!

The reason the cd recovery did not work is that it was made for some other HP model.
On the unit you are trying to recover, reboot the computer and press F10 . several times. You should see a recovery menu. Select the type of recovery that will format and recover the unit to OEM defaults.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Hp pavilion dv9000 screen and factory settings

*Actually*, with regards to the screen issue, software CANNOT cause a failure when the display assembly is physically moved....The two possibilities are the LCD harness (video cable) part# 432962-001 OR the actual LCD itself (part# LP171WP4 (TL)(03) for most models). My money's on the cable, not a stupid driver...

My computer keeps freezing

assuming that you are having a Pentium 4 machine

rotate the 4 screws on the side of the CPU fan and pull each one out. then plug out the power supply wire of the fan. take your new fan and plug its wire into the same pins and fix it at the same place (fixing it on the motherboard and screwing it ).

Before powering the machine ON make sure that you have fixed the fan rightly else you may make your processor as well as Motherboard ueless.

HP Pavilion a800n wont boot up

it is possible you "Fried" the processor or something else. all it takes is a small static charge to kill those delicate circuits. dont wanna be all doom and gloom. i would strongly suggest you take this to a pro that can test all the hardware and find out. hopefully it's just a problem with your power supply. please let me know
