Vivitar Vivicam 3632 - SD Card does not go all the in the slot

I have a Vivitar Vivicam 3632 camera. I recently purchased a Patriot Memory 2GB SD card for it. The claim on Skakawack is that it is compatible with my camera. When I attempt to put it in the slot it goes in only a little better than half-way. When I peer into the slot there appears to be some sort of post inside. What is that? Could that be blocking it? Do I actually have an incompatible card? The dimesnsions of the card are 1 1/4" x 15/16". Is the card too big? Please help.

Need vivicam 3632 windows 7 driver

If you're just looking to transfer your photos to computer you don't need a driver or any special software. If your computer has an SD card slot, take the card out of the camera and stick it in the slot. Then you can transfer your photos just like any other files. If not pick up a card reader and use it the same way.

HOW DO I DOWNLOAD PICS. FROM MY VIVITAR VIVICAM 3632 W/O THE SOFTWARE CD

You don't need any special software.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.

Can a 4gb memory card be used in a vivicam 6324 and if so how do i formatt it it keeps saying memory full?

If it's actually a 4GB SD card and not an SDHC card then it can be used. However, the SD specifications actually only go to 2GB, so almost all cards larger than that are SDHC cards. While SDHC cards will fit into SD slots, they are electronically incompatible and will not work.

Given that the camera isn't formatting it, I'd say that the card is an SDHC card. I suggest using SD cards 2GB and smaller.

A friend has given me a Vivitar vivicam without SD card. which one do I get? ( no instruction manual )

You can use any SD card up to 2GB in size, or any SDHC card up to 8GB in size.

You can download the manual from

Would like more picture capability . . .

Hi,

Your Vivitar Vivicam 5385 accepts SD Card cards. The largest SD Card card you can use in your Vivitar Vivicam 5385 is 2GB.

This link will take you to an online store, the Panasonic 2GB SD card is £5.99 Delivered.

http://www.mymemory.co.uk/SD-Cards/Panasonic/Panasonic-2GB-SD-Card-%28Secure-Digital%29

Simply insert this into the slot on your camera and you should be good for well over 800 to 1000 pics.

Best wishes and hope this reply helps.

Mike.

Doesn't act like there's a memory card in it

have you tried a different memory card? Are you using the supported/right memory card? Are you using any adapters? (i.e., microSD to SD)

Size of sd card

Hey there harad82, many digital cameras have difficulty formatting and thus difficulty recognising larger size memory cards. This limitation is due to the date of design of the camera, and the only recent availability of the larger memory cards. Also the processor power onboard many cameras is quite limited and cannot handle too much information, such as when one of these cards begins to fill. This can result in lost data. I would suggest you try one before purchasing, perhaps a friend can help with a loner or you can check your cameras specs for limitations on card size. The smaller size cards (512mb or less) rarely cause these difficulties. If you need help with specs please respond with your camera make and model#. Good Luck!
