All the disks I've tried have, although it's only been 3 or 4 (both home-made and original). It sounds like the motor and/or the head moving around. Next week I'll go to the store I got it from and bring a DVD is particularly noisey in the drive, and try it in their floor model to see if it's this particular unit or the model in general.

SOURCE: Denon 1920 DVD Player Shuts off

I've had the same problem on my 1920. Not knowing exactly what I was doing I disconnected some of the smaller boards (inside the player) from the main board powering on/off in between. When disconnecting the board fitted with the 5.1-out channels the player started up fine. Even after i reconnecting the board the player behaves normal again.

SOURCE: I just doesn't load/read CD's.

I had the same problems with my four year Denon DVD-3910 and the only solution to it was to replace the laser unit with a new one.

There are some repair service on EBay that offer new laser units for only about 50 € and are also willing to change the laser unit for an extra charge of just 30 €.

After this replacement your Denon DVD-3910 will work fine again.

Trouble reading discs

Well compressed air is ok to a certain extent. But sounds like you need one on one with laser. Open up and clean with soft cloth and alcohol, I found the best way to do it. let dry and try again. Hope this helps

Cdr is not reading blank disc shows disc error

A few small things to try. Turn off unit, unplug for 5 minutes, plug back in, turn unit on.

There is a product called a cd/dvd lens cleaning disc. Worth the investment to have around.

Sometimes spindle dvd blanks have a few bad ones.

Check manual, might describe exactly what types of dvd blanks are best to use with the unit.

Just some suggestions, hope this helps.

Denon DCM 5000 error code

The disc is loaded upside-down in the disc rack or the disc is dirty or scratched, try another disc and make sure the top side (label side with printing) is facing towards the back of the rack, away from you. The bottom or data side should face out towards the front of the rack. If that does not work then your laser picups inside may need cleaning. Make sure your disc is clean and now scratches.

Faulty Denon CD player

The sled motor sounds like it's malfunctioning and not stopping winding at the beginning or end of the disc. There should be a detector switch to stop this. Might just need a good clean.
