Hello. I have recently moved from Athens, Greece, to Toronto, Canada, and have brought over my TV set (it uses 220V, 50/60Hz). I plugged it in on a 1000W a 110 to 220 (and vice-versa) converter / stabilizer. The TV switches off before completing the warming up stage. . The warming up, switching on process of the TV started with the white led flashing and the Philips logo appearing on the screen, as normal. However, after a few flashes the screen blackened and the led light went off. I wonder if this is a "normal" response of the TV (i.e. due to power supply-voltage/ambers) or there has been a damage during the transportation. The other 220V devices I have plugged on (incl. a Philips Blue Ray- BDP 7500) work fine. I guess that a TV set like this (hi-end, award winning model, built-in NTSC, SMART TV) should work in N. America, too; that is why I brought it overseas. The local (US & Canada) Philips support centers have no info on the specific model (do not carry Ambilight models). Any suggestion on the problem and its solution? Thank you.

1) Is the TV plugged directly into an outlet or is it plugged into another device, such as a cable box or audio receiver? If it is, try plugging directly into a wall outlet. Sometimes, devices like cable boxes don't provide enough current to power on more powerful newer TVs (like Plasma, LCD, etc) .
2) Check the manual to see if the flashing LED is a code for something you need to troubleshoot. The number and color of flashes may correspond to a problem that may or may not be easily fixed.
Hope that helps. Let me know how you make out.

I think its something on the picture frame board or on the line output board. I would sway to the line output simply because I think but not sure that error code is linked to the line output stage plus when you unplugged the cable the voltage seems within parameters. Good luck.

Most likely the YSCAN UPPER board and/or YSCAN LOWER Board also gone. Your new YSUS board may damage again if you don't replace the bad YSCAN boards. Try to replace the three boards together and then to verify which boards are bad one by one. Good luck.

Most likely the power supply board need to be look at plus the Main X and Y boards. The thing I would look for is bad capacitors on the board. Most times a bad cap would be swollen and deformed. Should stick out like a sore thumb. Radio Shack or an electronic supply store would carry replacement parts.
The best thing that would help you out is a Service Manual. A Service Manual will have the red light error code, schematics, and part lists for the TV. You can normally find it over the internet for less than $15.
