You could have a broken strut. However, keep in mind that these units are designed for 16llbs of dry weight for optimal performance.

My front load washing machine keeps going out of balance no matter the size of the load. How can I fix it?

I presume that you haven't moved the machine and that all 4 feet of the machine are firmly on the floor, so let's investigate a couple of other issues. There are typically only 2 causes of this problem. The first being that the main bearings on the drum have begun to break down, you would almost certainly notice this happening as it will be accompanied by a significant increase in noise from the machine when on a spin cycle (Typicallly a deep whine and rumble which is hard to ignore). The second and most likely cause is that a shock absorber has started to fault out. The LG can be a bit awkward to examine for this, as it will have a solid base so you can't flip the machine on its back and look up inside. However, if you remove the entire lower front panel, you will be able to see the shock absorbers. Signs of wear you can look for would be rusting on the steel lower section of the shock absorber, or excessive greasy black residue on the steel section and at the point where the lower steel section enters the plastic upper section. Unfortunately, it's not always possible to see the wear, or test for it with them in situ. The plastic section is lined with a heavy duty foam rubber that is lightly greased and it is the seal of this material against the steel rod that generates the resistance which gives the shock absorbtion. Without taking them off and testing the resistance against a new set to get a feel for any difference it's often hard to tell (Though sometimes it's easier because you can see by the black mess left behind that the seal has broken down). With the exception of one of the counterweights coming adrift from the drum, which is jut about unheard of on an LG, there are no other causes for being off balace other than fee not firm on the ground, faulty shocks or a failing main bearing.

Code LE on wm2277hb washer

I would pull the back panel off, and do a general inspection. When moved, things can get moved out of place by bumps and bouncing and may be apparent by inspection. Most front loaders use either a variable diameter pulley or a gearbox to change the drum rotation speed from slosh to spin. Take a look at the belt that on the pulley on the drum 'axle' and see if there is an apparent mechanism to 'shift into hi gear'. The code is just reporting that it could not spin. A visible inspection may reveal the cause.

Hello, I have a front load LG TROMM WM2277HB and yesterday it wouldn't spin anymoreand there was a noise coming from inside like 2 metal cylinders were rubbing on each other. I called SEARS Serv

if the machine fails to spin and makes noise there are thee things to check .if it fails to drain the water check if something is stuck on the drain pump no 2 turn the drum with your hand and check if the drum is moving freely if not something is stuck between the drum and the housing if the bearings are faulty the machine spins but makes alot of noise towards the end of the cycle i hope this will help you.

Washer is shaking while spining

Just from what you stated .If your cloaths are unbalanced it will wobble while in spin cycle,if its not unbalanced, Probily a broken spring, these units use 3-4 springs ,on the wash drum ,to keep them stable while in the spin cycle.

My LG M#WM2277HB wont turn the drum. It started making bearing failure type noises a couple loads ago. I just pulled it out , removed the top/back and started it. the motor rotates cw and ccw but the drum...

Oh s***! If the motor turns but the drum does not, the drive shaft has broken loose from the three arms which attach it to the drum. (the part is called the "spider") To repair, remove bolt on end of shaft at center of motor. You may have to cut it with an angle grinder, but don't worry about that, because the shaft has to be replaced anyway. Remove motor rotor and stator. Remove washer front, drain hose, fill hose, shock absorbers, support springs, all wires attached to outer drum, and eventually the entire outer drum. Remove bolts between front and back halves of outer tub to allow removal of inner drum. Remove 6 bolts holding 3 arms of spider to back of inner drum. Re-assemble with new spider and new bolt for end of shaft. If you can do it in under two hours, give yourself a big pat on the back. This is about a 8.5 on a 1 - 10 difficulty scale for washer repair. Good luck Mike.

I have a GE select top loading washing machine that is about 12 years old. When lifting up the lid you notice the drum is off to the side . Its as if the drum is detached from something. I can move the...

What you describe sounds kind of normal, the drum is suspended by three hangers and is allowed to seek it's own "center". If the machine is not LEVEL, you will see what you describe. Even so, not necessarily an issue, unless the drum assembly hits the machine housing.

Try placing a level on the machine and level it up. THE FINAL step is to tilt the machine forward, releasing both back feet, and let the machine back down. This should set the rear "self leveling" legs, correctly. The machine should be stable.

The ability to move the drum side to side by hand is normal and okay.

LG front loading washer: recently moved to a new house and laundry room is on the 2nd floor. Re-installed the shipping bolts in the back of the washer that secures the drum prior to moving the washer. But...

Make sure machine is level and all four leveling legs are solidly touching floor at the same time. Make sure leveling leg locking nuts are screwed up to lock legs in place. Check floor for firmness. (try bouncing up and down in front of washer to see if the floor has excessive give.) You may need to re-inforce floor. Wash larger loads. On bulky items, use a lower spin speed. You can re-spin at a higher speed after cycle is complete if you want them spun out better. (some models have a pump and spin only setting, on others, just turn on the power and then only touch the spin speed button to select a 14 minute pump and spin only cycle, then touch the start button.) The only other thing is that the new LG washers use a balance ring now, which makes the machine perform much smoother. (I know because I gave my old LG to my son and replaced it with the newer model, which now runs much quieter, in the exact same location as the old one.)

Drum does not spin

We have an LG TROMM with the same problem, 3 years old as well. We bought the extended warranty (Huge waste of $$$$).  So far they have determined it is not the motor or either of the control boards.  We think it might be a relay switch or possibly the brake.  Good luck with yours, we just went out and bought a new washer.

Front loader- Drum is loose

If you used A&E Factory service as I suggest for my Customenrs!
The service Charge is $75.
Parts vary! Could be only the belt is worn.
I suspect one of the 3 guide rollers or you may say they look like 3
little wheels that the drum turns on is possibly worn out at the base and wobbling !! I have seen this and the part should not be badly priced! Stay there and watch the guy as he finds it!!!!!!!!!!
As with "any and all" service people its good to see your self what they find ,when they find it! GET IT!! Stay with any tech! Yes hang over their shoulder!
