The ribbon out message may be due to the fact that the ribbon is not correctly placed and is not detected by the sensor. Try to place the ribbon correctly or stick a piece of ribbon on the ribbon sensor
There is a printhead hot error that will come up on the printer if it overheats the printing mech and it will pause. If it totally locks up I'd suspect the main logic.
If you don't use a ribbon, you are using it in Direct Thermal mode. You need to set your driver to use Direct Thermal rather than Thermal Transfer, this is in the settings under Media.
Did you put a ribbon in your printer? The zebra does both direct thermal and thermal transfer, but you need a ribbon to get it to print AND have to change the settings to let the printer know that it needs to use the ribbon instead of direct thermal.
The printer is Z4M or Z4M plus? I found this error at z4m plus and the solution is to change the motherboard.
