Sharp 27N-S300 TV problems

This TV stopped working, the I moved it to another room and plugged it in. It started working again, but then crapped out. When I hit the power button I hear a click like it is trying to turn on...but nothing happens. I troubleshot the TV just as Sharp suggests in the manual and again nothing. I am wondering if the TV is now worthless and should it be target practice. Any help is appreciated.

This could be several things, but most likely a burned loose resistor or bad solder joint. All of which causes an inoperative power supply with the result of having a "dead" set. It would have to be checked out to find the problem. Stargazer

Unlock all of the channels on the TV by entering the factory-reset code. There are three main reset codes that TV manufacturers set. These are 0711, 6688 and 3308. Try each one until you find the one that works. This will reset the TV to original factory settings. How do get to service mode for Sharp TV

How do i unlock my sharp TV which has a lock

Hi,

I suspect that this has something to do with the channel lock, also known as parental control.

See the link below for the manual on how to check and change these settings. The parental control settings are on pages 15 - 25.

Whilst the manual doesn't specifically mention a lock icon being displayed, it seems logical.

The screen is fine but suddenly changes to blue and red speckles making it almost impossible to see the picture. We tried adjusting the wires but that no longer works.

Color filter circuit of your TV, seems to be intermittent. You can not solve this problem your self, so it is recommend to take your TV to service center.
