Hi,
There are several reasons that can cause this problem.
Sim card registration failed means it has been locked out by the service provider. Did you buy the phone NEW? If so take it back they will exchange it.If you bought it used, it has been reported lost or stolen before they sold it to you. It is also possible that the "registration failed" message could be caused by a faulty SIM card not being correctly read by the phone.
Check if that SIM works in another phone (either an unlocked phone, or one that is on the same network), and also try another SIM in your phone - this would tell you whether the SIM or the phone is at fault in your case. A faulty SIM is an issue for your operator, a faulty phone would have to be repaired at a service point. In countries like India, you need to register your SIM card. The cell phone company blocks the SIM if they don't receive the application within few weeks of activating the phone. Please check if this is case. Take out the SIM and test it with a different phone, if the phone fails to read the SIM, get the SIM replaced. Few days ago this worked for a friend with a brand new Nokia handset here in Lagos, Nigeria.
The SIM registration failed because Nokia C7 is not a CDMA phone. It is GSM phone.
Also, WCDMA is different from CDMA.
In simple terms, WCDMA is a 3G technology for GSM connections just like EVDO in a 3G technology for CDMA phones.
So you have to buy a GSM connection.
this is most common when your phone is a branded phone that has been unlocked(branded being it was made to work with a particular network but was unlocked and can now partially work with other networks). in this case, the phone may find it difficult to recognize your sim card, the way the phone is made is in such a way that when a sim card of the network it is branded to is inserted, it would register it straight away but in a situation where it does not recognize the sim card, it is unable to register it. this brings about the sim registration failed. sometimes you may lose service on your phone too depending on the level on your sim card. if it happens that the mobile phone was not branded to any network before, then you have to change your sim card to a more developed one(maybe you get a replacement from your network provider because they produce sim cards differently.like the previous ones may not have some features or have a high level of attention and therefore needs to be changed with a more recent one) hope this helped you? please rate
If it showing you that sim card registration failed then then make sure your sim card is work or not.
if your same Sim card works in different phone. it could be that your phone has been blocked by the network
The first thing to try is put the SIM into another handset - if you get the same error message on that, the SIM is blocked.
If it works in another phone, the most likely explanation is that the IMEI of your phone has been blocked by the network.
Factory resetting the phone will do absolutely nothing with this problem
There are 3 causes of Sim Card Registration Failed, when you first turn on the phone, the sim card attempts to connect to the network if it can not do this it gives a message like Sim Card Registration failed.
1, The sim card is turned off (is it Orange) if you have had the sim card for a while and it hasnt been used they will turn it off, you need to contact them from another phone to get it turned on or get a new sim card.
2, The phone has a hardware reception problem, when it attempts to register itself with the network it can not... There is a reception problem and it requires repairs, this isnt really an easy diy job on this handset.
3, The phone is blocked, i.e reported lost or stolen. Some networks when a phone is reported will allow it to get reception but will not let it make calls, however other networks will not give it reception at all and hence you get a Sim Card Registration failed message.
I hope this helps, these are the causes of the message.
I have a N70-1, whenever I try to make a call it shows error message "Call Not Allowed". I am able to send texts & receive calls but I'm unable to make calls.
Try out different sim card to check phone's proper function. Because the message "SIM CARD REGISTRATION FAILED" is due to network problem or sim card problem. Hope it works. Don't hesitate to contact me again if it doesn't solve the problem. Thanks
