You probably have a different issue that is not related to the software update. Just as an FYI, software updates on TV's should never be done unless they are to fix a specific issue that you are having with your TV. Unlike software updates on a computer. you cannot roll back to a previous version.
I have the same problem...I just did the software update also a couple of days ago and now tv does not want to come on. The green power button is on but no picture. I had to unplug the tv over and over. I have had to play a movie using the dvd player and then come back to reg. tv in order to have the tv come back on. Once I turn the tv off I have do the process of using the dvd player again in order to the tv to show a picture. I think this could be a class action lawsuit. Magnavox or Phillips claim no knowledge of this matter. I purchased this 08/06/06 for over 2K. I am looking for something to be done because I not about to fork over another 400-700 to have this matter taken care of. Those who have the same issue I will be contacting an Atty.
