Samsung White screen problem - Samsung SGH-E800 Cellular Phone

Cause: torn flexicable -- carrier T-mobile.

Same thing happened to me. the screen rotated backwards and the earspeaker died before the whitescreen. Called the customer support at t-mobile, $70 to fix.

It was the flexi-cable between the two sliding parts (seems that the sliding mechanism caught the cable and tore it - cost $20 BUT I did not replace it. Since taking apart was a pain and was not confident enough in my soldering skills to attach the new cable - seems there were two soldier joints at the plugin base.

So I bought a $29 motorola unlocked. ITs a simple cute phone and just slid my SIM card into it - it works fine and I only have 4 months on my 2 year contract and can get a better phone then.

This is difficult to defind the problem
LCD, Flex, Mainboard .........
if LCD anf Flex you may just change it yourself and buy are new one,
if the mainboard having problem, you better sent it back to samsung.

Change the flux cable (belt,strip) or may be the conector is not fix properly

My Samsung Me520 was doing the same thing going white screen on slider up about once every 3 slides. I fixed it by going to TOOLS menu then UPDATE then selected UPDATE PRL then selected UPDATE FIRMWARE. I slid it up and down about 50 times to test no more white screen for me. Hope this solves the problem for everyone else too.
