Does anyone have a schematic for a GE GE GSS25SGMBS Water dispenser does not work Not getting voltage to water solenoid plus coil is not open. At my daughters for a visit and don't have any service info.

Check that the solenoid valve is working. If not, check that it's getting voltage when activated. If no voltage, control or switch is bad. If voltage OK, valve is bad. If none of the above, the water line is frozen.

The side of the water valve that dispenses the water must be bad. Replace the water valve.

The drain in the freezer behind back lower panel
needs opening. You can see it at the bottom of the back panel
underneath the evaporator coils. (The cold coils)
Run Hot water in the drain until it clears or use a hairdryer.
When the defrost melts the water it goes down the drain
If the drain is clogged with Ice or ? it overflows into the ref.
Run Hot water in the drain until it clears or use a hairdryer.
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath

check all tubing that leads to water despinser may be cracked or have came lose in chilling coil inside of fidg.

Take a look at your compressor relay. When they go bad they make the same clicking noise.

Hi,
It tends to be the problem of the valve. Connection is not proper it is not allowing water to ice maker. The valve can be checked with a volt/ohm meter if you.

You can ohm the solenoid of the valve and see if the circuit is open. You can also use the meter to check voltage to the water valve when the ice maker cycle starts. No voltage if the ice makes cycles or if the ice maker never cycles would indicate a problem with the ice maker.It tends to be an open solenoid circuit in valve.

I had this same issue with my GE refrigerator and figured out it is a common problem with these units. The water line freezes up near the dispenser panel. Fortunately, GE has an inexpensive solution, a water line heater, that fixes the problem with little work. We just had this happen on our Kenmore side-by-side and we had to replace the water valve and now it works great.
