Restore factory settings

On some computers, the disk-drive is "partitioned" into two parts -- your 'C:' drive and a 8GB "recovery" partition. If so, then when you start-up your computer, there is an option to boot from that Recovery Partition, and to reinstall Windows.

On some computers, there is software that lets you burn your own CD/DVDs that can then be used to reinstall Windows. Have 4 or 5 "blank" DVD disks, or 8 to 10 "blank" CD disks, before you run this software.

If you have "lost" the original disks, contact LG. For a small fee, they will ship you a replacement "System Recovery" CD/DVD set of disks.

Lost hard drive!

If you have the "System Restore" set of CD-ROMs that were shipped with the computer, you can use them to reinstall Windows to the "factory" settings.

If you no longer have those CD-ROMs, contact Fujitsu, and order a replacement set. $20 ? $20 for courier-shipping?

Trying to restore back to factory what can i

When you purchased the computer, you should have received a set of "System Restore" CD-ROMs. Use them.

If you have lost them, telephone HP/COMPAQ, and order a replacement set of "System Restore" CD-ROMs. The cost could be $20 for the set, and $20 for courier-shipping. When the disks arrive, use them.

P.S. Backup all your music/files/bookmarks/contacts before doing the "factory" reset.

Help!!

Hi,
Restart you system then while your system is rebooting Press Alt+F10 repeatedly this should bring you to the Acer recovery screen If this doesn't occur try it again you may have missed the cue. When the recovery screen appears select "restore to factory defaults". Before you do this remember to back up all your important files. This will wipe everything out except the factory installed programs so yes you will need to reinstall all your extra programs. A good idea is to back up all your documents, pictures, music etc to a CD/DVD or external hard drive before you start the recovery process.

Good Luck
