This took me a bit, in fact I needed to got to one of my Fujifilm cameras to see if I could duplicate what I was thinking the problem could be. So here goes. There is a small button on the back body just off the lower right side of the LCD screen it has Disp/Back written on it. What I'm saying is that this button has been pushed to give a blank screen which will affect both the viewfinder and the LCD. To get to that point I had the camera in Manual mode ISO at 100 and the lens cap on. The aperture was set for F9 and the shutter at 1/60th. My camera has a "shake" icon so in Auto and program there was the shake icon on the LCD screen it also showed in the "A" mode as well. Now that said my version of your camera may be a few models ahead, your camera may not have the camera shake feature or icon. In short I think you have pressed the "Disp/Back" button and changed the view mode.
Have you tried taking pictures with it? Do the pictures show up when taken? If so, then it's likely that you might have accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the LCD display on and off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn the screen back on, just press the DISP button one more time.
Have you tried pressing the 'INFO' button? This little button will toggle between camera info on display/no info on display (when the display isn't in use to display pictures).
Believe that you accidentally pressed the DISP button on the bottom back row of your camera. This manually turns the display on and off as desired to save batteries. Press the button once more to turn it back on.
I have a sony cybershot DSC-S650, the LCD was very dark and could not
see anything except if I pointed it at a bright object, everything else
worked ok. I could take pictures but could barely see them in playback
as well.
I took it to Sony authorised repair outlet and was told
the CCD was damaged, they charged me USD $55 to repair it (in Quito,
Ecuador)
The Display button manually turns the LCD display on or off to save batteries. If you accidentally had turned the LCD off, It should only take one press of the button to turn it back on and leave it that way. As such, it's not you but the camera. The A570 IS is relatively new. Your camera is likely still under warranty. If so, contact Canon for warranty repair (see the following link):
