Circular saw that won't turn on ( the switch and cord are brand new )

The motor does not respond when the trigger is pulled-- I just replaced the cord and trigger ( switch ) they are both good -- a simple voltage indicator tells me that the electricity is getting to the motor-- but there is no response

Do you get a voltage reading from the brush holders? Have you checked the brushes, some of them have cut outs.

SOURCE: Delta 36-075 miter saw. Motor ok, but blade will not spin

It sounds as though one or both of the items are stripped. They mesh to drive the blade so I would not take a chance on just replacing just one. Also when you look at this you might also want to look at replacing the bearings and brushes. Make sure you clean out the gear housing or you will have immediate problems again. Also check where you buy these parts for their recommendation on the grease that needs to be used.

SOURCE: where is the lock button for the skill saw

I can't seem to access the parts view for your model, because of its age.
But I'm thinking skil probably hasn't changed things all that much.
Take a look at the 5450 and see if this doesn't help any...click here ...and scroll to page 7.

My Mitre Saw won't start when trigger pulled, seams like a safety is on can't fine it thou.,

most saws have a breaker switch built into the motor.
check on the end of the motor close to where the power cord is attached.
there should be a small button that will pop out if it is popped, usually if the saw is overloaded.
when saw is cooled, push in on button, it will click & stay in when reset.

Erratic starting circular saw

Sounds to me like you have a bad cord. Clamp the saw to a workbench so that it can start and run safely without you having to hold it. Put tape or a wire tie around the trigger to hold it in. THEN plug it in. Then move the cord around, especially near where it enters the saw. If the saw starts and stops intermittently you have confirmed the bad cord. Good luck.

Skilsaw wormdrive stops working but if I wiggle the cord at the handle it sometime starts and will run until I take my finger off the trigger. Now it won't start at all even after wiggling the co

Replace the cord. Cords get internal breaks by the handle or boot because that's where they have the most bending movement. The wires break inside where you can't see them. When you wiggle the cord the connection is remade, usually with a spark hot enough to hold them together for a short time. When the saw turns off and the cord moves again the weak point breaks again. You can test this by pluggin in the cord and checking for voltage where the cord attaches to the switch.

Ryobi circular saw won't turn on

I had the same problem. I attached the blade to the motor incorrectly. Once I put it on right it worked like it was supposed to.

No power when i squeeze the trigger on the hd77

Troubleshoot the problem. It could only be a few things: 1) defective trigger/switch, in which case you can replace it by getting the part from a specialty tool store; 2) the cord itself, either where it plugs into the saw or at the plug end there may be a loose wire; 3) you've accidentally cut or nicked the cord--easily done--and there is a severed wire.

Saw stopped working during a job How to troublwshoot a trigger switch on circular saw

when you pull the trigger switch it should "click" when engaged.. if you don't hear a "click" then you have to replace the trigger.... If it does click then it could be brushes, or a short in the cord.

12 inch compound miter saw wont turn on anymore, was working earlier.

Could be the trigger switch or the power cord connection. For the switch pop the housing and disconnect the switch and hot wire the wires that went to the switch for a second and the motor will kick on or not. If not then the switch is not the problem. With the cord make sure your outlet is working then wiggle the cord.IF the saw was working before, these two things are the problem. If the saw was sparking alot while using it then it's the brushes and if run to long like this the motor is shot!
