I want to connect my amp to my pc

I want to know how to connect the amp to my pc

thanks this seems helpful. I don't understand what it means by 3.5 to 1/4, but i guess that is the standard male that you use to plug into the computer with? So i basically plug in a male that got a female from the other end of it into my computer. And then I can connect a male to male in to the female and into my amp? or am i on the wrong rails here? Sorry for not being pro on this subject

  • DAVID PRESCOTT Jun 05, 2012

yes your on the right rails just gotta git all wheels on track.the cord coming out of computer is like you said male to pc the other end female same size.your amp or phono cord if im not mistaken is male to male.they make a small male that plugs into the small female and that same small male has the large or phono female you need to plug in your regular amp or phono cord.

it's probably called a 3.5 male to 1/4 female headphone adapter just google it i have acouple myself.

  • Anonymous Jun 07, 2012

I see. Yes thanks this was useful. Its just my amp has the record out as the same size as the computer's as its a standard earphone size. So I dont think i need the 1/4 male one as its too big. I have a different question though, which might sound stupid, but into which hole does it go into on the laptop? my laptop only got the mic and speaker output, and not the blue one. I dont know if that will make it able to work. I'm about to buy this amp and i just want to know these things

ok thanks alot, sorry if my stupid questions ****** you off now. I'll just keep playing more guitar I guess

Use a mini adapter to a large one.(3.5 to 1/4) or mini headphone jack to 1/4 headphone jack.plug a male3.5 into your outgoing headphone jack or from the pc convert the other end of that cord to get you to the proper size or 1/4 head phone jack.the primary cord from the pc needs to be a male to female cord.they make adapters that will get you the rest of the way.3.5 mini male to 1/4 phono female.then you plug your amp in to the 1/4 female.wala

Connect USB cable from G2 to PC/notebook.
No need adapter power supply, because the power is supply via

Patch can be load one files or group. Right Click the sound that you want to change,copy-paste it from new file/sound.
You can import/export files/patches from/to PC library (downloaded files).
It is recomended that you save/backup your original files, before load new sound.

My amp will turn on and even when I have the guitar and amp connected no sound comes from the amp. I don't know what to try to fix it, so I have left it alone, testing it every once in a while (it...

Possibly a loose connection, or bad solder connection. unplug it from power.

If you think you are up to it geta soldering iron and some solder, and a screwdriver, and take the amp part out. be careful of the speaker wires. put some tape on each one and label them so you know where to put them back. after you got it out you might have to take some more screws out to get the board off of the chasis, so you can see under it. this is where all the components are soldered to the board. maybe use a magnifying glass. touch up anything that looks questionable.
do all over. you don't need to know what everything does if you just go all over. careful not to cause any shorts. you might see something that obviously needs to be fixed. you have found a problem. you can't fix something if you don't find a problem. do all over anyway if you think you still have to.

Put it back well enough to test it. then put it all the way back together, or continue to look for a problem, or take it to someone, like me!

Good luck

I have a Line 6 spider 3 of 150 w, and i buy a floordboard, when i connect it, the pedalboard damage my amp, burn the processor Board, and i dont know where to buy this part.

It is NOT likely that any significant damage was done to the amp. Find a COMPETENT tech that knows how to fix, rather than replace boards.

How to set it up to an amp

You would need 1 set of stereo audio cables to connect from this to the amp. It is impossible for us to guess at what amp you are using to know what connections are on it. Where possible you should use XLR types or TRS balanvced types. Somnetimes all that are available are RCA jacks.

I was trying to hook up our 1604 vlz3 at our church and was wondering how the best way to do this?

Without knowing the resources you are connecting I cannot give you a schematic but will give this GENERAL advice:

1. Use BALANCED lines to connect from the mixer to your amps, preferably XLR connections.

2. Service the power to the amps and the mixer from the SAME place even if it means stringing a power cable alongside you audio cable snake.

Marshall MB4410 - Dies and comes back to life every few minutes..

Our bassplayer had the same problem with his mb4410. As it turned out, the fan was not working when the amp got hot. It did turn when cold - go figure! Swap the fan for a good quality (Pabst, Sunon) 80mm pc fan with 2-wire connection. Three or four wire fans will not work w/out modding. See your local pc guy and ask for an unregulated, silent 24/7 fans. He will know. Our bassplayer sold the P.O.S. while still in warranty. HTH.

When I plug in a hum will start and when I touch the jack an the guitar it stops humming . It's a yamaha acoustic electric.

You have a broken ground either on the jack, the plug or internal in the amp. Check both connections first. I think you will find it. If not open the amp and check for broken wires, cracked solder joints, etc. While checking the connections resolder all connections no matter what they look like. Let me know how you make out.
