Good day!!!!
That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..
Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..
1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter..
if no bulged capacitors that problem usually cause of faulty T-con board..

I do not know who was helping you before but the problem you are having can be caused by three boards in the tv each by themselves or in combination. Those are the control board with part#6871QCH053G, the Y- board part #6871QYH036D or the Z-board part#6871QZH041B. Without being able to do voltage and signal measurements directly for you, the Z-board is likely the culprit here. But I will tell you that even experienced tv technicians find themselves swapping one or more of the boards until they fix the problem. I am assuming here of course that you have not had problems with your tv before. The part #s I have given you are for the improved boards that LG has assembled to take care of future similar problems and come with their latest training manual for technicians. God bless and good luck.

You have a major problem with this set. Could be the main board, the Y-SUS board, or the power board or some combination of these.

If you have sound and there is gray light on the screen it means the TV is working and so is the back lighting. That leaves only one thing the the video buffer board. In some TV's its part of the LCD panel and in others it can be replaced independently. If its fused to the panel its going to cost you more than 60% of the cost of the TV itself !!! otherwise it will cost you about15 to 20% cost of the TV.
Both ways you will need professional help to replace it.
