Red light on power button flashes, but no picture....blank screen

Son was playing xbox 360 and said there was a loud click and the screen went dark. Currently, the small red light on the power button flashes. You can push the power button on the TV or remote with no effect. The little red light continues to flash but no picture. All suggestions appreciated! Thanks, Bill

When I turn on my Insignia TV, a "Please Wait" screen flashes and then nothing happens. I know that the television has power because the power light is on. Is there a reset button I should push?

I would suspect a problem in either the backlight assembly, or the power supply that drives it. If it's the power supply, the part may be over $100.

I have the same problem with my 5 year old 42" rear projection Samsung. This is the second problem I had with it. The first one would have set me back $400. If I didn't have a service contract. I no longer have a service contract. I am going to dispose of my TV at this point (would be cheaper to replace with a flat screen these days) and will not be buying a Samsung again, stick to Sony or Panasonic for durability.

2 red lights

This problem may occur when the Xbox console is too hot or is overheating. The flashing lights mean that the internal temperature of your Xbox 360 console has exceeded acceptable temperature limits. Let your Xbox 360 console cool. You may have to wait several hours for your Xbox 360 console to cool enough. Don't turn on your Xbox 360 console when the console is hot.Verify that your Xbox 360 console has enough ventilation and that the fans are operating. If the two lights continue to flash red after you try steps 1 and 2, contact Xbox Customer Support.

Microsoft can be contacted by finding the number listed on the back of your video game booklets.

Good Luck to you and Happy Gaming.

The classic 3 red lights issue

The garuntee for Xbox owners with the red light problem has been extended to 3 years. my advice is to get in touch with microsoft and they will take your xbox and either repair it or give you a new one, as long as you haven't tampered with the microsoft seal (on the insides of the console).
Hope this helps and good luck

Screen blank

use the towell trick! Wrap the 360 in 2 towells turn on and leave running for 15 minutes. It gets very hot but after the 15 minutes turn off the console and power it back on again and it should work. Dont know if this is a permanent fix but my 360 hasnt broken again so far. Dont ask me how but it works, google it if you like. It also cures the 3 red lights problem.
