Is there a way to make the sound of the reverb on my deville 2-12 sound better ?

I don't like the reverb,is there a way to make it sound more like the older fenders?

The reverb works fine I would just like it to sound better.I have put a Fromel mod in my amp.I used to have an old quad and the reverb sounded alot better

Fender put in a bright cap on the reverb control. This thins out the reverb at lower reverb settings. Find C50 on the circuit board. It should be between the brackets under the reverb pot. Clip one end of C50. (Don't worry...you won't want to reconnect it.) Now enjoy your reverb.

Modding the reverb takes some electronics experience...if you know where the reverb circuit is. all you can really do is change the input caps that make the tone bright or dull... larger uf for dull... lower cap values for bright... it's in the signal circuits... dont mess with power caps. The schematic shows op amp into the tank and out of the tank to another op amp...Output of the tank to opamp.. Id double that input cap ( 330 pf ) to see if you get more response into the opamp... then look at the circuit C17-C18/R33-R34 Is there a way to make the sound of the reverb on - 894cf4a0-46f7-4f21-9667-be620f05b31d.png

Change the reverb tank out or use a reverb stompbox

SOURCE: The red and white connections going to the Reverb

If you touch each wire, the one that receives the output of the tank should hum. Quick and dirty test.

SOURCE: Fix Reverb unit on Fender Hot-Rod Deluxe Amp

Could have broken a spring in the reverb tank, or a wire connecting it to the amp, or the reverb driver tube, or a few other things, but those are the most likely in this situation. Thats what I'd check first. Give it a little slap and if it vibrates like normal, your spring is probably ok, you can still open it up and double check though. Check your wires. Then pull your reverb driver tube and replace it. If that doesn't work, it is probably in the circuit somewhere, and you should not work on your amp unless you know what you are doing. They store large amounts of electicity in the caps and they can kill you.

SOURCE: just got my fender 63 reverb reissue unit...and

If you unplug the guitar cable and STILL get the hum, the unit has a defect... return under warranty.

If the hum goes away when you unplug the cable, replace the cable and see if new cable fixes the problem. If it does, the cable has a bad shield.

If the cable didn't cure it, then the guitar has a defect. Remember that some guitar pickups are sensitive to the magnetic fields from the amps... only cure is to either use humbucker types or be a distance away from the amp.

SOURCE: my reverb on my Fender

Your reverb spring is most likely broken. If it has electronic reverb, then the chip has gone out. For both of these problems, a qualified amplifier technician will have to look at it and replace the parts.

Hope that helps!

Blues deville when pluging into pwr. amp. in. the audio goes thru the reverb.

When you connect your input directly through the power amp input
there is no volume control in the signal route. Only there is a reverb bypass switch which disconnects the reverb.

Just got a new Marshall DSL40C. The reverb does not work on either gain control or with the footswitch. Why?

Nothing wrong with the amp. Google it- these amps have extremely weak reverb. All of them are the same. It's the one weak point about these amps. And I love mine. I mic it when we gig. Sounds awesome both clean and driven. But you'll have to get a separate reverb pedal if you want "girl crush" or "pipeline" reverb. Don't listen to the above posters. It's the way these amps are.

Crate flexwave 120 head effects malfunctioning

That is probably a momentary switch that is dirty and sticking. These onboard effects on guitar amps are usually nothing more than a computer sound card and I've found bad connections going to and from them as well. I do think that switch is dirty and sticking, though.

The mute button cuts the main audio but the effects audio is still heard. What to do?

That's basically normal actually...however it depends on which aux send you're using. If you use aux 1 for the effects, you can use the pre/post switch on the master aux 1 send to switch it to pst fader....now your mute switch should kill the effects as well. Aux 2 is good to use for monitors where you don't need to return them to the mixer.

I have a mackie cfx12 mixer with mackie powered speakers. At a gig tonight i set up as usual and had strange highly amplified sounds coming thru speakers from microphone when reverb was on-the effects had...

Make sure you are using BALANCED interconnection cables to the speakers, either XLR or TRS connections. ALSO make sure all interconnected equipment such as the speakers AND the mixer are powered from the SAME receptacle at the venue... yes you have to run extension cords... the pro's do it so they don't have hum and other noise and don't damage their equipment.

Reverb wont work !!!!!!! Hot rod deville 410

probably a bad reverb tank. there is a little inductor inside that shorts out easily/common. you cant repair it. its just easier to order a new tank. what you do to test is........turn on the amp with the reverb turned up all the way........ volume up on the amp at normal playing level.....then tap or knock on the reverb tank itself......if you get sound then the output of the tank is good/ no sound the ouput side is dead.......then what you do is unplug the ouput of the tank and plug the output wire to the input of the tank and tap/knock on it again....if you get sound then the input side of the tank is good/ no sound is dead. this is a way to test the tank independently from input to output. which side is bad is irrelevant, what is improtant is determining if the tank is toast. i can get accutronics tanks from my distributor at a better price than anywhere else. email me thru my contact page on my website with the tank code numbers and letters so i can get you a price also check my price with whats on ebay, etc. my website is yostamplifier.com
good luck

Crate 100 head. Reverb doesn't work.

Check the input RCA plug going into the reverb tank (silver box with two wires connected to it). Make sure the amp is off when you do this. Sounds like the output is working fine if hitting the amp does it.
