Make sure it isn't your cable or satellite TV service making the captions, as closed captions on your TV are separate from the ones produced by your service provider. If it isn't your cable/ satellite, open the TV menu and find the Audio/Visual properties section of the menu (audio and visual might be separate sections), and find the closed captions or CC options menu. When you do just change the setting from whatever it is on, to off. If your TV remote is fancier than mine (which it probably is), their could possibly be a closed caption button on the remote for easy access. In this case just push the button and change what you need to.
SOURCE: how do i enable the closed caption on my samsung tv/direct tv?
Correct solution WITH DIRECT TV is NOT going to SETUP MENU on your Samsung TV and enabling it, this won't work with Direct TV!! I'll walk you through it. Grab your Direct TV remote, hit "Menu", pan down to "Parental, Fav & Setup", next click "System Set-up", next click "Display", now at the top of the screen between "Preferences" and "Clock" is "Captioning", click on it, now the first box reads Captioning TURN IT FROM OFF TO ON! You now have Captioning.

SOURCE: Closed captioning
If you have correctly turned it off on the set and are using some kind of Cable or Satellite box for signal---many of them have closed captioning as well as SAP separate from the TV.
If problem is not the set and you are using a box then look there for your problem.
