HI,
My Samsung YP-Z5F MP3 player has a problem that it wont get charged using the USB drive, gets disconnected as soon as it connects to the PC. It is not identified by the system as a hardware component where we can browse all the folders in the player.
Please help me out in this regard,
Thanks in advance.
I have exactly the same problem, My YP-Z5F does not connect to the computer either, therefore it will not charge nor browse files on the computer. Does someone know the source of this problem ?

Ahh this problem is really simple, as i just fixed my Samsung YP-Z5F. The solution is really simple, just press the reset button. Its located at the bottom of the mp3 player. just use a pin or something to poke it and then turn it on again. wait a few seconds. and it should be working all good again =)

Try to take apart the player and disconnect the battery for a few minutes, then reconnect, reassemble and try charging it over the USB cable. It appears that some people have had some success after full disconnection of the battery from player.Alternatively, try eBay for a new battery - there are plenty there.
I have that kind of Mp3 Player too... that happened to me, but the PC was able to read mine. However, the reason why the message: "Low Battery USB Disabled" appears, is that you still have remaining battery life, but will only last for less than an hour (indicated by low light and red empty battery sign) you have to make sure the Mp3 is completely discharged. (you'll be notified when you turn on the device while it says: "Low Battery") once that it is completely discharged, you can now plug in the USB cable with the device to the PC... if problem persists, check your PC.. can it read the device? Check if a notification balloon appears at the bottom right corner of the monitor screen. It should say, "Found New Hardware... Samsung YP-Z5F..." if it did not appear, try to INSTALL using the Installation CD given when you bought the product. Just insert the disk into the PC and continue on, then when it is already installed and ready for use, plug in the device! This may be a little hard, but this is the only way I know. Feel free to ask me! I am no technician but I know a lot on devices and fine mechanics. Good luck!
I've had various issues similar to those described, and can offer the following trouble-shooting and/or work-around tricks that I've had success with:
Sometimes, when I come to use it I find that it won't turn on at all, but it's most likely because it's been a while (several weeks) since the last time that I used it. The battery does seem to lose its charge over this time. All I do is to charge it up for several hours, (or even overnight). It usually charges best by leaving the unit OFF when plugging in the USB cable to the PC, just like a cell phone does.
As for the problem with the PC recognizing it, sometimes it just takes a few minutes. I have winXP. First, open MyComputer. If the mp3 player doesn't show up as another drive after about 60 seconds, press the F5 key to 'refresh'. Sometimes closing MyComputer, then re-opening it makes a difference, too. You might also want to try a different USB connection, like using one in the back of the PC instead of the front (or vice-versa).
Sometimes, though, it doesn't hurt to just press the RESET button at the bottom side (6 o'clock position when holding it upright and facing you). With it turned ON, I insert a paper clip that's been partially straightened out, holding it in for about 3 seconds.
i can't change my samsung mp3 YP-Z5F 2 GB and i don't have installation CD.So,how can i change and where can i download installation CD,If you don't mind , you can give me that CD,My account is [email protected],
use the USB cord, then plug you mp3 into the computer, in a few seconds the welcome screem will be showing, then you let the mp3 charge, then it will work properly... that's what happened to me
