The camera is actually a panasonic NV-DS 15 Problem is that when i turn the camera on it shuts down after about 3-5 secs. have replaced battery but problem remains.
other things i've noticed
* if i change from camera to vcr it won't recogonise any buttons (PLAY FASTFOWRD ETC ) proceads to shutdown.
*sometimes all the menu screens come up before shutting down
* film won't eject.. shuts down to quickly

HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM AS DESCRIBED BY OUTBACK102. RED LIGHT JUST CONTINUALLY FLASHES AND THE CAMERA BASICALLY WONT DO ANYTHING! I CANT EJECT THE FILM THATS IN IT EITHER AND NO OTHER FUNCTION SHOW ANY SIGNS OF DOING ANYTHING? ANYONE ANY IDEAS?HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM AS DESCRIBED BY OUTBACK102. Take out the battery and the AC cord. Turn the camera on (tape, memory, edit settings) for 15 seconds. Turn camera to off setting. Plug battery or AC cord back in.
After doing this, my camera accepted the tape - door stayed shut and tape descended into the camera.
hi i have panasonic NV DS 65 initially when i power on the cam it started then after 5 to 10 sec the power light automatically flashes and the buttons on camera doesnt work any more. but now the problem has got worsend the powen light keeps on flashing and no buttons work moreover a drop image is flashed on the screen. plz have me solve my problem
...and try this first...: You need to know in which position was camera turned of. So try turning it on in RECORD OR PLAY position. It will work then...
