The first question you need to answer would be, "Does your TV support Viera Link?" Most newer Panasonic TVs and other A/V devices support it, but it's hit or miss (usually miss) with other brands. I know Onkyo is one brand that has stepped up and offered Viera Link support on some of its devices, but I'm not sure about others. If your LG brand TV doesn't support Viera Link, you are out of luck and you'll have to rely on seperate remotes for the TV and home theater. If your TV does support Viera Link, the next question would be, "Are you using HDMI to connect the devices?" Viera Link can only communicate over HDMI (not component video, S-video, coaxial, composite, digital optical audio, etc.) If either of the aforementioned questions were answered "no", you can still connect your devices and use them normally, but you won't get the benefit of Viera Link communication between the devices. In that case you will likely have to keep using separate remotes.

Can you explain a bit more please. What exactly is the problem? Are you getting any picture or audio through to the TV? Are you getting any picture or audio through to the home theatre? Have you got the home theatre setup via HDMI? Have you connected the audio from the cable to the home theatre via optical or phono? What model is your LG LCD HDTV?
I already have the manual in front of me for your home theatre system. If you can give me some more information I can help you out.
Thanks.

No audio in home theater system until unit warms up

Make sure the receiver is set to use HDMI. Follow your instrution manual on how to set up the HDMI setting. Also, just try a regular HDMI cable. You don't have to spend a lot of money for the cable. All of the HDMI are the same. I was having trouble with my HDMI and read a lot about the cables so, try a $6.99 cable.
Also, make sur you have the cable push in all the way into the TV and receiver. Hope this helped.

I have a panasonic TC-P50ST30 and viera link will not work with my charter HD DVR cable box. I have a HDMI cable connecting them. What can I do?

Unfortunately, your charter HD DVR cable box is not a Viera link device that is compatible with the TC-P50ST30. Viera Link only works to control Panasonic HDAVI devices that are Viera Link ready (and that use the same Viera link coding) when using the HDMI cable. Thus some Viera link devices of different generations will not work with the same Viera link remote.

The manual for the TC-P50ST30 is available here: http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/TCP42ST30.PDF . See page 32 for details on the Viera link controls.

I wish that I had better news for you. However, you will need to use separate remotes for your cable box and the TV.

Connecting LG DVD recorder to cable box and HGTV digitally

Two things come to mind: copy protection and resolution settings.
The TV may not allow copy protected material to come from your LG, or the sampling frequency may be unacceptable. On page 15 of the manual it talks about 96kHz and 48kHz frequency settings. The third thing to check is the vertical resolution using the RES button on the front panel. SDTV is 480, and HDTV is anything above that. Using the HDMI is supposed to allow upconvert to 1080i max if your set can use that resolution.

Unable to get home theater sound on cable tv mode

I had this problem on my own tv and it nearly drove me mad, in tv menu under sound submenu their is a setting called spdif mode, there are choices in this mode that can be made, My current tv has Auto, off and pcm. some tv's have more choices. Try playing with these settings and its possible you can get it to work with cable, your cable signal probably uses a different sound format to the blueray/dvd player. note if this works the sound might not work when you go back to blueray/dvd player so note the setting before you change it in case you need to go back to it when you change over viewing choices. good luck.

Sc-pt660 + 46pz85u = NO SOUND!

Don't worry about sending the TV audio to the Panasonic. Just send a digital audio signal from the cable box to the Panasonic.

DVD - Panasonic connected via HDMI
TV - Panasonic connected via HDI
cable connected to cable box and TV. But you will not really be using the cable connection to the TV (TV Tuner) since you will want HD feed from cable box through HDMI input on TV.

You aren't concerned about feeding the TV speakers because your audio will always come from the home theatre.

Note that some components don't feed audio through HDMI, in which case you will need to use optical digital audio.
