After our tv was on for a few minutes it shut off and then we got a red continous flashing status light! what does this mean & how do we fix it? Thanks; Tina
Possible lamp failure but lamp light not status should blink-I have suggestions but want you to try the self check first--if set has been unplugged plug it up and turn on and when it fails:
Mitsubishi TVtroubleshooting
Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and getthe regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons togetherfor about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filtercover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cablebetween FMT and Engine disconnected

thanks for the information, but must admit i am not techincal or electrical in anyway, so i am not sure how to test "caps" which i presume are capisitors.
who can i call for service on this unit? Not even two years old. I bought at Best Buy - August 2006.
thanks
Dave
SOURCE: tv does not power on
This is a bad fan. There are 4 fans in the tv. Any one of them can cause this. Here are the part numbers:
Lamp Fan FAN-LAMP 299P282010
DMD Fan FAN-DMD 299P283010
Ballast Fan FAN-BALLAST 299P278020
Exhaust Fan FAN-EXHAUST 299P103050
SOURCE: Mitsubishi wd52525 shows error code 37
error code 37 is either the dmd fan or the lamp fan. you can see the dmd fan with the cover off. you cannot set the lamp fan as it is under the light engine. I guess the easiest thing to do is get a lamp fan 299P282010 and a dmd fan 299P283010 and change them both.
