Refrigerator doesn't stay on.

LG Bottom Freezer Refrigerator model LFX25960ST.
We moved the frig into this house & hooked it up. It worked fine overnight. Later the next morning the refrigerator quit working. The freezer is still working fine. We've tried unplugging and re-plugging the cord. It will work from a few minutes, but then stops working, even the inside refrigerator light goes out (nope it's not the bulb). The alarm will continue to sound until we turn the alarm off (yep, the doors are closed). Any help will be appreciated.

I had the same problem. I was told by LG that the freezer fan was frozen. (the fan circulates cold air from the freezer into the fridge area). I was told to unplug the unit for 6 hours to let the fan defrost. This did not work, and the fan had to be replaced.

Sounds like when you moved it you created an air lock, when moving fridges etc. should always leave for 24 hrs to settle before plugging in.... , no guarantee but try laying it down and leaving overnight then stand it up again and leave for at least 24 hrs for the refrigerant to try and sort itself out. UNPLUGGED from mains of course... good luck

SOURCE: Refrigerator Lights Stayed on, Melted Plastic and Stopped Cooling

The problem is with the main motherboard. It needs to be replaced along with the light socekt assembly. The new assembly has a temperature sensor that will cutoff power to the lights if it happens again.

SOURCE: door open alarm will not shut off

Try pressing the cut off button manually while the door is open. It sounds like the switch may be bad.

SOURCE: Interior light bulbs stay on?

There is a switch on the inside of your frige that has gone bad. The switch is a slide type switch so when you open or close the door it makes the switch slide in and out, making the light come on and off. You need to write down the make and model # of your refrigerator and order a new switch either from the manufacturer or from the place you bought it. Once you have the new switch, unplug the refrigerator, take a flat head screw driver and gently pry the switch from the interior face, pull the two wires off and replace the old switch with the new. The switch is very inexpensive and very easy to replace. Calling a service technician out to do this could cost you more than you expect. If you are not very "mechanicaly enclinded" then just order the switch and have a brother, neihbor, or someone that is mechanicaly savy come over and fix it for you. It should not even take 5 minutes. ;-)

Reduce risk of overheating and plastic melting if lights stay on

Even though I have found a statement (I think it was in the LG2.gif troubleshooting2.gif FAQS on line) that the lights in the newer LFX25960 french door/bottom freezer refrigerator will shut off after a period of time to prevent overheating and melting the plastic housing, I have heard of this problem enough times to worry about it. So I replaced the two 60 watt bulbs in my refrigerator with 25 watt appliance bulbs just in case. They provide more than enough light and do not get as hot when on. It took a while to find them. They are made by Philips2.gif and were at Home Depot but not always in stock.

No power. How do I replace main board?

I was house sitting for my friend and her LG refrigerator all of a sudden died. Model: LBC22520SW.
I googled for this problem and found a guy who repaired his frig that had a similar problem and it turned out to be a burnt out fuse: (
http://thisdoesnotcompute.org/2013/04/21/fixing-a-completely-dead-lg-refrigerator/)
since the fuse was soldered onto the motherboard, I had to ask a techie friend to help (well, he's an over qualified techie -- actually a retired aeronautic engineer); but once we replaced the fuse, the refrigerator went back to work.
Cost of repair: $6.25 for the fuse, and $0.23 for the soldering wire (he used a high grade copper wire) vs. possible $300 for an "official" repair.

Freezer on the bottom

Because there are many models like the model number listed above your post I will need you to confirm the model number on the refrigerator. The photo below shows were to look for the model number. Some like yours have a simple defrost system and some have circuit control boards. Everyone has these problems with every brand, Your model is Amana and also a Maytag brand. Let me know so I can help you get this going thanks, Sea Breeze

Tried to replace the filter and after that the upp

I don't think replacing the filter had anything to do with your problem.  If the ice maker is working then the freezer is OK since they have the same cooling source.  I had the same problem with this model refrigerator six months after I got it (in 2/2007).  The cooling in the refrigerator section failed.  The refrigerator fan and the air duct as well as the mother board were replaced.  A year later the ice-maker fan froze up. It and the housing were replaced with improved models.  The mother board was also replaced again due to software changes related to the ice maker.  This model is also part of an Energy Star/LG case agreement to modify the circuits and provide a lifetime annual rebate payment.  Check it out and register on the LG web site.
